Hello everyone, this is Carmella, Loyal Companion and Varmint Control Officer at Eduweb, filling in for Dave this week. Me and my pack were up north this week, taking a break and checking out the wildlife. We saw lots! Eagles, herons (both green and great blue), loons (including a juvenile just learning how to fly), beavers (yikes! I’ve heard stories about them!), white-tailed deer, and hummingbirds, kingfishers, and a lot of other birds. We even saw a fellow canine — probably a coyote, but who knows, it might have been a wolf!

I admit to napping much of the time and, from what I saw, Dave mostly took the week of from WolfQuest. But I did hear some talk. Sounds like the new elk model is almost done and apparently looks delicious. I heard a lot of muttering about trees — did you know that these big new maps have over 100,000 trees on them? And Tommi-the-programmer is working on the frontal attacks on the elk, which sound rather terrifying if you ask me. I myself prefer squirrels — in my youth, I notched six kills of those varmints! Of course, this being my 10th year (just like WolfQuest!), I focus mostly on flies nowadays. I’m too old to bother tracking my kills anymore, but I can assure you I would’ve earned few achievements this week if I did.

Good girl, Carmella! Its always good to take a break (both people and our furry friends). Did you ever swim, cause that lake looks really nice!

Wow, 100k trees!? That's a lot of trees. I can't wait to see the new elk model.

Wow, 100,000 trees? How many were there before?

Speaking of naps, I've got to agree how great they are. But it's nothing to be ashamed of when you're working hard!
Also, what an adorable dog .

Can not... I love you right now.

I concur, that is a lot of trees! Over 100,000 wow (I'm def gonna count those) :tree: . You don't think that's gonna interrupt game play do you? Do some lag? Or is it not gonna be as bad as I think.
Also, would if be more lag or data usage to place in a single tree mesh, or a mesh that had multiple trees in one thing.... You catch my drift?
I'm really super excited to see the new (updated) maps and how you guys have updated things, you deserve a good break. I can't wait to see the water and new camera angles.
As before, I've always wished that the wolf's head would turn with the camera. It's so much more interactive.
You guys are doing SO great! :D I'm really excited and I know just about everyone else is too.
I really hope science class in school will use this game.

Hahaha, thank you for updating us even though you and your pack are all on holiday. Sounds and looks like you all got to indulge in some beautiful and relaxing nature, and I'm admittedly pretty envious!

The game dev talk is pretty exciting and promising as well, although I'm glad the team allows themselves some well deserved rest <3

Everyone who dedicates their time and money into the making of this game deserves a good break. 8) Also, that's A LOT of trees. Seriously! The game would look so much more realistic and dense with beautiful and thick foliage added to the game. My only fear is that I hope the map expansion and massive amounts of trees won't lag the game.
