The next version of WQ...

Post by WQ Coordinator » Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:09 am

Hello, all, just letting you know that we are planning on releasing yet another version of the game with a couple more bug fixes (the food will actually save when you return from the cattle ranch, among other things) in the next couple of weeks. So if you notice a bug you think should be fixed with this next version, make sure you send a bug report with as much detail as you can. Bugs will only be fixed if we can find the reason why they're occurring, which we can't do without bug reports (with details, saved games, output logs, etc.) Please follow the instructions in the Tips, Hints, and Help forum or your manual for reporting bugs, and hopefully if you find one and send enough information, we'll actually be able to fix it! Thanks!

Not stickying this because there are too many stickied topics as it is. Plus hopefully we'll have an official announcement with the release by the time the interest in this topic dwindles.
Thanks for the avatar, Silverness!

Not sure if this is a bug or not...but maybe have more variation in the pups. I usually end up with four of the exact same color, or maybe one of another color thrown in there. But at least three are always the same. It should be like the Splash Screen, where each puppy look different(as long as the parents are different)

Thank you Cana for this information. I found very little and minor glitches, but I will report then though. And I think is unnecessary to say that we can't wait for it xD Again, thanks for posting this.

I will be searching for glitches, thanks for making the topic, Cana.

I have a kind of idea that would be good for the next version of Slough Creek or maybe for the next episode, if this too big as for the next version, then I will just suggest this idea at the "Ideas for new episodes" for future episodes.

What about adding short clips of wolves when we play at Singleplayer. For example, when we first join the hunting ground, the game screen should go black for a moment and then the clip would appear with real wolves hunting.

When you get a mate a video of real wolves should appear with normal social interactions.

When we have our pups there should be a video of a wolf inside the den, and the pups moving around or something like that.

When we first see a bear and coyote, there should also appear a video.

It would make the singleplayer game even more interesting and educational. Of course an option for skiping the video should be available.

I'm glad that you all are going to be fixing the glitches, I was confused when I had no extra food after returning from the ranch.. So far, we had fall and spring episodes, so I'd like to suggest a winter episode with your mate and surviving pup(s). Also, I think you could make experience points more important, since some people just rush through the game :| . For instance, the higher your experience, the more boosts your stats get :D .

I'll be on the lookout for some glitches. I've encountered some but I haven't been able to take screenshots because I was trying to avoid using up space on my computer, but it's fine again. Thanks for the update, Cana!
