WQ Coordinator wrote:I wouldn't normally make a post like this a global announcement, but I feel like it's a unique opportunity and I don't want people to miss it. I'll put this in "General Wolf Discussion" after a little while. I was hoping to get this out in the next newsletter, but the registration deadline is coming up quickly and we don't yet have enough people to make the program a go. So here's a sneak peak at one of the things that will be in the next newsletter (if we get it out in time!):

The WolfQuest game offers a chance for players to learn all about wolves without ever leaving their home. Now, the Minnesota Zoo is offering an amazing opportunity to learn even more about wolves. On March 5-7, 2010, join us at the Minnesota Zoo to see captive wolves and speak with a wolf zookeeper, then visit the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota, to learn about wolves with a night wolf call, hike to an abandoned wolf den, and track radio-collared wolves from an airplane. This program is geared toward adults, but anyone ages 12-17 may attend with a parent/guardian. Please register by February 2nd. For more information, visit the Wild Wolf Ed-Venture webpage: http://www.mnzoo.org/education/educatio ... enture.asp

I know the date doesn't give you much time to think about it, but it should be a really great experience and I hope we can go!

it is my dream to study wolves, but i am not even 12
my mom said she would drive me to see the zoo (we live in Wisconsin Rapids)
but that is not JUST about wolves, and i REALLY want to do what you said and i dont have enough money amazingly as a ten year old as MY money i only have $166.00 (this Christmas i got a total of $250.00 but i spent a little)

Will you allow a ten year old to attend with her mom? > HER MOM

When I played the expansion, Survival of the Pack, I was a little disappointed. First of all, it was a good expansion for not having many funds, but it still wasn't good. I expected that survival of the pack meant really SURVIVAL OF THE PACK. Not survival of the puppies. They should grow up once we get to the summer area, and they should be able to hunt with us, then we have new puppies AND THEN THE GAME ENDS! There's many things in the game I dislike, such as:

-The fact that the puppies don't walk fast enough at all
-The mate is a horrible helper
-Wild animals come TOO often after the puppies, I can understand birds, but bears dont come running up in huge swarms trying to eat the wolf pups in real life. Wolfquest is suppose to be ALMOST identical to real life wolves.
-Everywhere I try to go to get my pups food this wolf comes running up to me and kicks me back somewhere else.
-Elk carcasses do not have enough food ( Should be like the original :x )
-Puppies glitch too much
-There's not enough food nearby for the puppies.
-It takes away too much health when I have to fight off bears, then I use up all the Carcasses' food to heal myself when my puppies are starving
-The mate takes forever to come back from hunting
-The quest parts don't give you enough information
-I hear about these farm areas but it won't tell me where to find them
-I cant leave the pups for 30 seconds without something showing up on the screen like a bear or coyote
-The pups wander WAY too much and when I do get them trained fully they still leave the den area
-I cant save all 4 puppies when there are animals from all directions
-The puppies freak out too much when a bird or animal is near

I do enjoy Wolfquest, and I loved the first game, but this one's got me mad. I stopped playing completely after the expansion came out, and I don't think I will anymore because of all those reasons. Please, take more time, fix the game again. I'd like to donate to wolfquest, but I'm not getting what I expected. Sorry.
