different howls between male and female wolves

sorry if this has already been answered but i typed the question in to the search bar and could not find it. i have read on sites like wikipedia that male wolves howl to the pronouncitation of oooooooooo! and that females howl to the tone uuuuuuuuu! now ive never really trusted wikipedia as anyone can write on their so i was wandering if i could help me? thanks.xxx

Before dismissing wikipedia, check the reference it gives. In this case, it is Mammals of the Soviet Union, which is definitely a reliable source.

i just checked up on the wiki page and this particular article was written by a person could seton 1909, but i think he or she is a canine expert. i just wanted a second peice of proof or infomation.xx
