Not exactly, they are both the same species; Canis lupus; but the two are different subspecies.

Alaskan Wolf (Yukon Wolf) - Canis lupus pambasileus

Arctic Wolf - Canis lupus arctos

behavior and anatomy wise, the two are almost identical; only real difference is habitat and coloration

If you don't have an answer to help the user with their question, then it probably would be best not to post, alright ^^? Cheers!

Both are subspicies of the gray wolves, the Artic wolf is set apart from other subgroups of gray wolf by its almost white fur, thick fur, rounded smaller ears and a shorter muzzle than other gray wolves, all adaptative traits too fit into a cold climate.

The Alaskan wolf , which is sometimes referred to as the Yukon wolf, was classified as the Canis lupus pambasileus in 1905 by zoologist Daniel Elliot. It is among the largest wolves in North America, if not the largest. Interior Alaskan Wolves are usually of a darker color, most often black or black mixed with either brown, gray, or white. Some believe the Alaskan Wolf to be an extention of the Tundra wolf.

From what I know, they can have different colors than just white. They do have darker fur sometimes, but others have white fur.

Glad your question has been answered, though please try to avoid bumping up extremely old topics.
For those reasons, I'll go ahead and lock this. Thanks! ^^
