WQ 2.7: User accounts

We've set up an entirely new user account system in WQ 2.7. This will require creating a new account (not tied to your forum account), but with instant/automatic activation. Why create an account? Here are all the features you'll get:

1) Achievements: Over 75 achievements across the three maps of the game and multiplayer mode.

2) Friends and Packs: Add friends, then create a pack and add your friends to it.

3) Messaging: Send messages to friends and packs to discuss the game and plan multiplayer sessions.

4) Cloud-based game/wolf saves: Sync your saved games/wolves with other computers or tablets, so you can switch over and continue playing.

5) Game News: See the latest news from the WolfQuest Team.

As part of this system, in MP games with phrase chat, you can invite another player to become friends. We hope this will mitigate the loss of lexicon chat in public games and help players switch over to private games with nearly unrestricted chat.

Thanks Dave! This is great to know, especially for when people want to make private games :) You and the team have done a great job so far! Will the accounts be available to be made when the game comes out?

The packs and friends idea sounds amazing for anyone organizing a private game. Forum packs that play the game will be so much more enjoyable too, I might even join one!

When you open 2.7, there will be a Log In button at the bottom of the screen, and when you click that there will be a Register option that you can use to create an account. You can do it right when you get the game or do it at some later point, it's up to you.

This sounds amazing i cant wait to try it out! i really hope it comes out on the 28th, that'll be my day off from rehearsal :D may i ask the average speed of download time?

Really like this whole concept, gonna keep my username on the new account system because this is my username for almost everything :>

Sounds great! I may just keep my own username, preferably because it's a username everyone can remember, and have seen me as.

thank you i was just curious because with wolf quest on here it takes about an hour or two but with other games like shelter or games like that it takes like six hours just for it to download, i don't know if that it was just steam or.

I like this new system coming in 2.7. Like most, I'll probably just create a new account for that system with my old username.
I'm excited about the new account system. The new features I'm most excited for are the achievements and adding friends; then creating packs to add your friends to.

Is it OK if we could use different usernames? I'm still debating what user I should have on Wolfquest 2.7, but it might just be the same as usual on forums.

I like this new friend and packs thing. My only question/problem is that currently multiplayer servers only allow 5 people. If forum packs wish to play together on the game, the server will have to allow more. Especially for the bigger packs. Is this something that is going to happen?
