What will happen to the forums when WQ3 is released?

So I've been wondering this for a few days, and I'd like to know what everyone else thinks. What will happen to the Forums when WolfQuest 3: Anniversary Edition and Tower Fall is released? Will they go dead (because everyone's playing the game), or will they be more active or just the same?

I think if anything it'll make the forums more active, because it'll likely draw more attention to the game and bring more people to sign up and/or return to the forums to discuss all of the new updates together. However I voted for "about the same", since in my experience many of the people who are drawn to these sorts of forums by new add-ons generally don't stay for that long.

probably about the same, a bit more active if anything. I hope that it boosts activity but the release of 2.7 didn’t really boost activity imo.

I personally think forum activity will drop for a while when it's first released, as most people would probably want to spend a while playing. However, after about a day or two (or a few hours), I can imagine people would start returning to the forum, wanting to share their experiences, or chat about how awesome the new features are.

Basically, I'd say activity would go down at first, then go up once the initial fuss has died down a little.

I think the forums nowadays are being used by a pretty fixed and specific audience and I doubt the release of WQ3 will affect that much; to my knowledge, the majority of the active members do not actively play the game anymore. I think we might see a few new faces and more posts in the Tips, Hints and Help section, but I'm sceptical as to how much it will affect overall forum activity.

With 2.7.'s release, there was a temporary increase in activity up to and right around the game's release in November 2015 until January 2016, specifically in General WolfQuest Discussion and Tips Hints and Help. See http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewforum.php?f=2&start=720 from pages 19 to about 15 for GWQD's activity. If you go through all of those pages, you will notice there is less variation in time stamps in terms of dates compared to what you see before and after those dates and what you see now. The same thing is true for Tips, Hints, and Help from pages 18 to 15 here http://www.wolfquest.org/bb/viewforum.php?f=2&start=560. General WolfQuest Discussion was a little more active in terms of users who frequent the forums versus folks signing up to receive help to post in Tips, Hints, and Help or had not visited for some time.

The forums will not suffer a drop in actvity-- if anything, a temporary increase in activity in the aforementioned forums, slightly greater than the activity brought about by 2.7, will occur.

That's what I'm thinking, but hopefully with the greater expansions and new controls, the forums will exsplode with activity!

I'll have to admit that I was one of those players drawn to the forums due to the incoming release of 2.7. I'm sure that there will be many more like me that may be attracted to the site when the game is released.

I will say I do quite like the activity as it is now. There's not too many people to keep track of, I don't miss all that much if I don't login for a few days, and the remaining audience is largely my age group, so it's easy to connect with them, but like most people have said I'm sure there will be a slight uptick in activity in tips and help, and maybe even this forum. I wouldn't mind seeing a few new faces stick around as Timber and BB have. ^^

I would definitely love to see more members both coming back and new! I personally think with the added detail WQ3 will bring in a bunch more member, hopefully some will stay.
