Predicting Episode 3!

Post by Phasoli » Thu Feb 02, 2017 4:40 pm

Since Episode 3 is in the making, what sort of elements and/or missions do you think will occur within the new game?

While I won't predict any of the content, I do predict that the release will be huge. I'm hoping it'll be even bigger than 2.7, and bring the remainder of the community back to the game and grow it greatly.

Oh, no, none at all :) It's the third episode that people have been asking for since the release of Slough Creek, I'm hoping it will just happen. The release of 2.7 surpassed all of our predictions (at least mine), after all! I do know a handful of Youtubers that will certainly be covering the new episode as well.

I am certain that the release of Episode 3 will be huge, considering that the requests of the players are now being taken into consideration. It makes me feel proud to have a voice!

As far as predictions go, I am just as uncertain as everyone else, but I can imagine a more lively map with increased aesthetic elements added here and there.

But of course, no pressure!

I predict- or I hope- that more Linux users will get interested, prompting management to say, "Let's do a Linux version. Why not?" I also hope there will be prey-marking in multiplayer. "Go get 'em, pack!"

Should I put the new version on WineHQ?

I'd honestly like to see replayable content or minigames, sort of like what the cattle ranch was for the second episode. I can hope haha

@Kelvin: There might be some good news about that. It seems Dave was (or still is...?) considering it-

So perhaps there's hope for an official Linux-supported release in the future without the use of Wine. :)
Nothing interesting happens.

I predict that we will be training our pups to hunt--or we may even get to play as our pups as they try to hunt. Not a very bold prediction I know, but to be honest my expectations are not as high as everyone else's seem to be. Slough Creek took a very long time to develop, and it ended up having just 5 missions (pick a den, mark territory of den, feed pups at den, defend den, travel to summer den). I think for Slough Creek the devs spent most of their time building this new map and giving it detail (and also dealing with mate AI), so I assume that's probably what will happen for the newest version of the game, and so I only expect a few missions.

Hmm, hard to say, I know there will be missions, but I just don't know what kind.

I think we will have to feed our new pup litter more because there will be more adults to feed them or will have more pups for the same reason.

Possibly geysers but I wonder if it ends at fall or winter as wolves don't typically start hunting with their parents until early fall and the scenery would be absolutely gorgeous with fall colours <3

I'm thinking there will be more signs of human activity. Tower Fall is rather easily accessible from what I've heard. It would be cool to see hiking trails or remnants of fires and campsites, or trail guide signs? Perhaps even a road with cars?
I doubt there will be actual humans in the game though. I'd quite like it to stay how it is, without direct human interaction.

I'm hoping too that with the addition of calves that we'll have to contend with mothers and bulls defending them. Would add a challenge to hunting them.

I agree with you here. I enjoy the purely "wolf" aspect of the game to where we get to admire human objects as a novelty.

I agree as well. If humans are ever added or there is a stronger presence I hope they would be strange, far-off and never able to be interacted with because of fear (much like real wolves). I really would like that to be preserved.
