One quick question: Are we allowed to find a mate before the competition, or do we have to wait until the first of May?

Wait until the 1st, that way no one gets a head start with hunting. Sound good?

Already a wonderful list of participants! ^^
Which is growing in size each day.
I am looking forward to seeing how many we end up with when May rolls around. Hopefully this continues to run smoothly, and we gain some great interest. :D

Hmm...
Looks interesting. But the hunt begins at the wrong time, right when i have more work to do...
But i will participate anyway.
A question: shouldnt it be specified if the hunt should be with or without a mate? Because if we think about it... if someone wants a good challenge they wont pick a mate, but they work harder... The ones who pick a mate have an earier time and they can catch 2 times as many elk too...
To me it looks unfair...

I like the sound of this idea^^
I shall participate as well c;
Good luck to others who may want to compete!
One thing though, I have realized, I can't really work as well with a mate in single player.
Just to say that mine lags, so a solo wolf will be doing it.
I pretty much agree, with Gargantor, along the lines with a mate.

RULES
  • Hunting must be done in singleplayer only with or without a mate
Some people prefer to hunt with a mate, some people don't. The choice is up for the person hunting to make.

Hunting with a mate can be seen as "easy" but many people have issues with their mate (or even the game itself). So it may be more worthwhile to hunt alone - if you have the right stats and good hunting experience then hunting can actually be quite easy by yourself. Say you have trouble with hunting, then that is why I linked hunting guides which can help you in the long run. Another thing I mentioned in the first post, practice! Know what does and doesn't work for you when it comes to hunting.

I know that it is your own choice, but I see you dont understand my point.
Lets say someone participates without a mate. they work very hard to get xy amount of elk kills. but they come second.
because the one who came first, had a mate that hunted with their wolf, plus the mate was actually helpful -with 2.5 the mate is pretty smart now. thus they got more elks, sooner and with less work.
See my point?
So what does the person who fought very hard get, other then second place, even though the screenshot shows they were alone?
Right now you say its a minor thing, but just wait when such problem occurs and someone complains...
I am just trying to help here.

I understand your point very well, Gargantor. :)
This was never a problem with the older competition, so I will be keeping the option of having a mate unless this becomes a large enough issue when hunting begins. If people want the new rank they will need to work hard for it.

Thank you for the input.

I think I would like to give it a try! :D Though my hunting is at the failure level, It might be fun.... X3 I have one question though: When we start on May 1st, is there a certain time limit? Like, for example, do we stop in a month, or just whenever we feel like it?

Thanks :3

Once hunting begins on May 1st you have until the 31st to hunt as much as you want, you will have to post your score later that day. Then the winner will be announced on June 1st and the competition will restart. :)
