Re: Falconry -- Hunting With a Bird of Prey
Hopefully this thread is still active enough for me to learn a bit more. I've always had a deep fascination with falconry. I've done a good bit of research but sadly have not had the luck of being able to get a hawk for myself. It was nice to see a couple websites I had visited on there. I assume R...

Re: Falconry -- Hunting With a Bird of Prey
Ahh I see you pulled a Zelda reference there with the name ;). Falconry is always something I’ve been interested in and if I can find myself a sponsor it’d be a dream come true for me! Unfortunately the falconry club in my state is very small, so it’s going to be difficult to find one. Do you have ...

Re: General Bird of Prey Discussion
Did you know that WILD golden eagles prey on adult reindeer! Golden eagles can take down wolves, too. It's usually falconry eagles, but wild ones are certainly capable of it (though less inclined to make an attempt)! Nice fact! could you tell me about the relationship between eagles and coyotes in ...

these animations are great! emotes will be really helpful in the game. in singleplayer, will the mate/pup AI be programmed to respond to these as well?

Re: How large are Chernobyl Wolves?
correlation =/= causation. Chernobyl is located in Ukraine, which is a very cold climate. animals that thrive in colder environments, although the same species as their warmer-dwelling counterparts, tend to be larger. a good example of this is in the red-tailed hawk; western variety birds tend to l...

Re: Two questions
oh, sorry! I don't play 2.7 a lot and completely forgot that was changed. thank you neamara for clarifying that, and reminding me haha
but I agree, it seems to just be a stroke of bad luck. keep at it, and you'll get one eventually.

Re: Two questions
1. What should I do to find a mate? Like, I know I have to visit the stranger wolves' territories, interact with these wolves etc. But last time I tried to interact with all three of them, one run away and two others chased my wolf away. Really, what am I doing wrong? I've never completed the singl...

Re: Dressy, lipstick-wearing chimpanzees often victims of tr
facebook, hands down, is the worst, right up there with tumblr. I have a falconer friend who posted a video with her aplomado falcon when he was still a youngster. The video has him sitting, peeping, generally being friendly to her. i knew exactly what the bird was doing -- he was simply a youngste...

Re: Dressy, lipstick-wearing chimpanzees often victims of tr
i'm assuming you wrote this? its very good, and a nice message to share. Not just with chimps, but other exotic animals as well. i was looking for a video the other day of coati sounds to send to someone for a reference, but the only ones i could find were of "cute" pet coatis that had been declawe...

Re: Government: Wild red wolf population could soon be wiped
there's now a facebook petition going around to save the animals. i love the effort but... nobody in the comments there seems to understand that there's not much hope anymore, seeing as its only a matter of time before their genetics break down. they're just bashing the usfw for "not caring," which...

Re: General Bird of Prey Discussion
hawks, in the united states, are not social animals and will not flock together. The raptor you are likely seeing is a kite--either a mississippi kite or a swallow tailed kite! we don't have swallow tailed kites in my area, so i don't know too horribly much about them, but mississippi kites look li...
