Re: Do you think Wolfquest could be like this one day?
@Anduril Well yes the graphics, but also the gameplay. The large number of animals (big wolf pack and bison herd) and the unique strategy involved in hunting bison.

Re: WolfQuest Goes to the International Wolf Center
Watching some of the International Wolf Center's youtube videos really shows how complex and important social dynamics are to wolves. Hopefully we can include them in the game one day.

Do you think Wolfquest could be like this one day?
I hope Wolfquest one day evolves into this.

Re: Design Challenge! The First 15 Minutes
I agree with the other suggestions of a story-driven open. For Wolfquest that could be seeing your created wolf being booted from his/her previous family and running off. Another way to start the game could be an animated montage of the game world. The camera could zoom in and out of places on the m...

Re: Flock Around the Clock
As long as the ambient animals have believeable lives with a good variety of animations and responses to different stimuli when they react with not only the player but also with each other (inter-species and intra-species), then we can't ask for anything more. Things like cougars hunting elk, fight ...

Re: Mission Simpossible
Using the scent system is better. For side missions, to make them more naturalistic make them less 'official' and more dependent on other animal AI--things like cougars or bears trying to steal your carcass or even trying to hunt you if they're really hungry. Similarly, more complex AI interactions ...

Re: Poll and Discussion: Increasing the age of Wolfquest use
@ Anduril I was just thinking of WOLF actually. I'm just thinking of the future of WolfQuest that's what inspired this thread. Looking at other games and wolf documentaries and imagining how WolfQuest can maybe get there one day. The other reasons for this thread are as follows: 1) I think the user...

@ PearlyReborn
Sure they can. Mates can die while hunting with you. Try killing a bull elk with your mate. Of course, they always respawn yes.

Poll and Discussion: Increasing the age of Wolfquest users
This is the full poll question (it's too long for the poll question): Should the target audience of WolfQuest be increased to some age range the devs determine appropriate? What do you all think about increasing the target audience age for the game? Right now the target audience is still 9-13, but a...

Re: Community and Competition
@SolitaryHowl You're missing my point, which is simply that the devs are being forced to split their precious efforts between multiplayer and single-player. It's gotten to the point where they have to develop separate mechanics for each--it's not how it used to be. Given that WolfQuest is obviously...

Re: Community and Competition
Hopefully that's the case. But that's very difficult to do and very resource intensive. With other mainstream games, the best single-player games and the best multiplayer games are very different and have very clear priorities that focus on one more than the other (for instance, the Uncharted Series...

Re: Community and Competition
@Phasoli My concern as just a player is the single-player experience. As far as I can tell a lot of resources are being put into multiplayer (both funding & moderation efforts). It's pretty obvious that bringing something like pack vs pack competition with real players rather than AI in multiplayer...

@koa wew. I was agreeing with Wolvencall, and I just have some free time this week to read older posts. Whatever happened to this place to make the mods so tense?

Re: Mapmaking
Does this mean the Amethyst Mountain episode will no longer take place in the fall? I hope that's not the case as it would disrupt the progression of the story and the game that we have so far (finding a mate in the fall, having pups in spring, and now raising them in the summer in Tower Fall). Also...
