Re: Forum Suggestions V2
Search seems to be working fine for me, haven't had any issues since it was updated.
I was wondering though if it was possible to enable signatures for all users in News and Announcements and the Tower Fall dev blog, or if it isn't possible, what reason there is for this restriction. As it is now, I only ever see signatures from admins and some mods (Koa's and Neam's from what I've seen.. report team related maybe?), though I haven't combed through those boards to check who can and can't use signatures. When I post there, I don't even have the option to enable it and I don't recall ever having it.
It's a pretty minor thing, but I don't recall ever seeing a reason given for this oddity and it really doesn't make sense to only allow signatures in those boards for a very select few when the rest of the forum doesn't have this restriction. Sorry if I've missed something.

Re: Forum Suggestions V2
I'm assuming Cana restricted signatures in this way to prevent people from attaching busy or distracting signatures in their replies. I remember there being some code-and-symbol-heavy signatures back in the day... perhaps we should disable signatures from administrators' posts and only enable them for the WolfQuest Team, considering most of WolfQuest's employees (from Eduweb and Minnesota Zoo) are already in that group...?Kirave wrote:I was wondering though if it was possible to enable signatures for all users in News and Announcements and the Tower Fall dev blog, or if it isn't possible, what reason there is for this restriction.

The Report Team never had signature permissions in that forum; looking back, the same would normally apply to moderators as well, though it has always been enabled for administrators. What I can say is that this was an unintentional oversight from some permissions tweaks that were made two days ago -- will get to work fixing it now.Kirave wrote: It's a pretty minor thing, but I don't recall ever seeing a reason given for this oddity and it really doesn't make sense to only allow signatures in those boards for a very select few when the rest of the forum doesn't have this restriction.

Re: Forum Suggestions V2
hi can we do this please-- SPAM war (maybe. if it happens it'll likely be after the app release.)
On a more serious note, what about allowing images in all forums for users who've proven that they won't spam bad images? Like senior users, former uotms, etc?
Edit: i just realized how ironic this post was lol rip

Re: Forum Suggestions V2
Following the search bar fix, I suppose now is a good time to bring up another function that hasn't been working (at least for me): the 'Mark Forums Read' function on the Board Index page has been broken, not sure for how long. When I click on it, no description appears to tell me that all forums have been marked read, and certainly no action to mark the forums as read ever happens.
The 'Mark Subforums Read' and 'Mark Topics Read' functions both work, it's just the one on the Board Index that seems to be glitched.

Re: Forum Suggestions V2
Noticed the same thing a while ago - think it's been like that since before eduweb came back, though I'm not 100% sure. Good to know it isn't an isolated issue and it would be nice if it could be fixed.
In other news, the first post has been slightly updated - the legend or key now has two more categories, and some colour coding has been changed.
Should we change them so that each rank is unique? Right now, each badge is in use 2-3 times for certain ranks, as shown here:

I personally think the diagonal paw looks better, it shows more clearly than the vertical.

Love the idea of changing the post count rank badges - I personally prefer the diagonal option.

I like that, especially considering the amount of posts between some of them. The diagonal one looks nicer to me. It looks more symmetrical somehow.

Re: Forum Suggestions V2
Okay, I've put these together. Here's an updated preview:
For the twelfth rank, do we still want to use the standard five pawprints badge, or should we try something different? Any ideas?
I was messing around with the templates for a bit, so all I've got to show for it are these two edits:
Strawpolls: Re: Twelfth rank & Metallic/embossed, gleam or other?
If you vote other in the second poll, you may contribute your own creation- closed

I think it would be nice to have the 12th rank somewhat different from the others - so I vote for gleam too.
