Here are some coyote facts.
Size: 20-50 pounds
Diet: Rattlesnakes, fruit, black bear cubs, wounded or young ungulates, small birds, rodents, hares and rabbits, and carrion
Amount of pups in a litter: 5-7 pups in most areas. In very healthy environments they can have 9.
Competitors: Cougars, black and grizzly bears, wolves (as shown in wolfquest! Who else loves chasing them?), foxes and bobcats
Symbioses: They hunt with badgers and have been seen licking them. Hookworms are parasites.
Den behavior: A hollowed out tree stump or a den dug by another animal. Sometimes they will dig their own den.
Social behavior: They typically form packs but sometimes they live alone and band together with other non-related coyotes to hunt large prey
Feel free to leave other facts or questions!
