It's only a matter of time now. They've crossed the Panama Canal.

  • Not much to say about this paper, other than I wonder what sort of biotic or abiotic factor will eventually limit the species range expansion south, if at all. I don't think predatory competition will be a big factor, since their niche is established amongst cougars, bears, foxes and wolves in NW NA.

    It would probably do well across the Atlantic, if introduced. I actually did not know beforehand that coyotes don't exist in South Africa and Russia/Europe, living in NA myself :oops: . I need to do more research on canine species evolution and migration!
