Yeah I know about maned wolves. I also did a research of them. They look really awkward when they walk though XD lol kinda funny...they almost don't look like dogs but rather...hyenas or giraffes

I'm in love with the fantastic Maned Wolf. They mostly have long legs and they look more like a fox and hyena mixed together. I especially love their big auditivies (ears) that help them hear from long distances. ^^ Their the biggest candid (canine). :3 They are pretty fluffy.

Yes, I definitaly agree with you -Dakota-. The Maned Wolf is my favorite Canine than the Wolves. I love their long legs for their own great distance speed.-Dakota- wrote:I'm in love with the fantastic Maned Wolf. They mostly have long legs and they look more like a fox and hyena mixed together. . . .a distinctive black mane. . .The mane is erectile, and is typically used to enlarge the wolf's profile when threatened or when displaying aggression. . .

Re: Maned wolf ? You heard about it?
Correction, Maned Wolves aren't actually Wolves supprisingly enough, people can get confuised over this, I've done it myself, but they're more related to the fox.Silver_Moon681 wrote:Thank you for posting this!! Re: Maned wolf ? You heard about it?
I've seen a few Maned Wolves before, captive ones.
The first were at Edinburgh Zoo, the first "wolves" I had ever seen. I went as close as I possibly could to them, and they just stared at me, and I watched back. One of them tilted it's head slightly, which was a very special moment for me.
The second time I saw them was in Banham Zoo, they were related to the wolves that I saw at Edinburgh Zoo (which was a surprise). They had a distinct musky smell, and you could really smell it, it was much more powerful than the Grey Wolves marking smell. I watched their keeper hand feed them fruit, and you could see how cautious they were. The keeper told us about the folklore of these wolves, and how wrong it is. But the most heart-breaking of all the things that she mention was that hardly anybody is out there researching these wolves, eventhough they are nearing being endangered. People are more concerned about zebras, giraffes, lions and others.
They will be gone if nobody helps them.
