I hate it that people think coyotes attack people because coyotes are evil. They arent evil
The mountains are calling and I must go.

coyotes are evil to me. (i don't blame the ones with rabies) they killed 4 of our precious baby goats.

And omg being attacked by a coyote must be shocking. O_O

I got chased by one once.I was with my uncle (he's a wildlife biologist)and I caught a rabbit (With a net)And I guess the coyote wanted it and chased me until my uncle hit it with a stick.
Eclipse
I hear them getting closer
Their howls are sending chills down my spine
And time is running out now,
They're coming down the hills from behind

I honestly think the girl is lying. Like pawnee said, the title and the story is a cheesy.

1. Bored 6 (5?) year old's shouldn't be let outside at that time of day, regardless.

2. The dog and the girl escape almost unscathed. There was no proof of the attack other than a 6-5 year olds' words. They mentioned no pawprints, there was no search for evidence. That, in my opinoin, is absoulutley redicusless. (Sp?! Dx) I can name at least more than 10-15 times I've lied when I was smaller just to attract attention.

3. The girl probably saw a fox, possibly a coyote, I doubt it attacked her. If the animal was defending terriotry, the damage would be much worse. If it was hungry, the dog could've driven it off. The scratches are probably from bramble or another spiked plant.

It's just not possible for a girl and a dog to escape unharmed if they're 'attacked'.

There is no one to blame. I don't know why we humans automatically point fingers.

her parents are idiots, they let her out alone?!? a coyote bites her, srsly i bet that lil girl is lonley and wants attention, so she lies about a coyote biting her, and now what they kill an important species, the coyote, wow the police should take away the child from the parents, seriously who lets a 7 year old girl walk alone in a forest, where she could be kid napped or worse!

I'm sure there is proof that the coyote did attack her Tawny. Besides, why would she want to lie anyway? Was there something guilty she did? And her parents couldn't have known that a coyote would bite her. Maybe they didn't even know that she went out alone. We can't just assume things and make judgements on what we think happened.

Wow. I luv coyotes and would not want them to be shot at, and I agree with you, they do keep the deer pop. down, along with wolves, they help too.

I'm really not surprised because I have seen coyotes in their vitious state and it shocks me sometimes when they attack so violently.
