Re: WQ 2.7 Tablet Update

Post by loboLoco » Mon Mar 28, 2016 1:56 pm

Tablet estimate is now "Spring 2016." I'm really sorry to keep delaying it. We're a small firm and have had a busy winter with client projects, so have to squeeze in what time we can for WolfQuest.

We don't currently plan to offer a phone version, due to the difficulty of squeezing the graphical interface onto a small screen in a readable and usable way. However, never say never, and if we ever do do that, it would become part of the tablet version, not requiring a separate purchase.

(FWIW, I did put it on my iPhone 6 last summer, and it was mostly pretty nice! The most daunting aspect of a phone version is multiplayer chat -- I just don't know how to make that usable on a small screen.)

Maybe chat could be shrinked and a button would open it? (or clicking on something in the corner of screen) :3

Still looking forward to the mobile version! I'll gladly pay to put it on my siblings' and my tablets. Also using the keyboard for chat does seem like it would be a bit too much for a phone screen along with the game. But if it came down to it I'm sure everyone could handle having the keyboard chat.

We are finally making good progress on this. I'll have more info in a week. I expect it'll be released in June.

So pumped for the tablet version! Take as much time as you need. :D

Also when it comes out for mobile, would a person playing on mobile be able to play online with someone on PC? As my cousins don't have a computer at the moment, they just moved and are still trying to find a proper place. But they all each have tablets (one has an iPad), would they be able to play multiplayer with me if I'm on my PC? WolfQuest is one of our favorite things to do together.

Yes. All versions use the same multiplayer service, so you can play cross-platform and cross-device.

^ That's so neat! Great I have around 10 people who are going to buy the game on tablet platforms.
