I think the auto-save's a great idea (so every time my game crashes right after finally managing to get a mate, it'll be saved!)

How it works no2 in v2.7: the game auto-saves every few minutes, always updating the same save file (per wolf, so you. An have several wolves, each with a different autosave). You can also do a manual save at any time (except when in stranger wolf or elk zones, as always). So I think this covers pretty much all typical cases, right?

Good idea, Dave!

Although would disabling the auto-save be an option? (Sorry if you've already said it will be, I've only saw you say you liked the idea)

Why would you want to disable autosave? Just to get rid of the "Autosaving..." alert that appears for a few seconds periodically?

There is a perception that auto saving floods your hard drive with saves and will slow down the operation of the device. Not to mention that tablets have relatively small storage sizes and can fill up rather quick with games and music.

I don't know if you'll have just one auto save slot that gets overwritten every save or multiple slots that rotate usage.

Oh, there is just a single autosave file per wolf.

Ah, then it won't be too much of an issue if it's just adding a few bytes or kilobytes per save. Thanks for clarifying that!

Dave I'm sorry, but I don't think the auto-save is a good idea.I mean-you must save the game were if you want!

Manual saving will still be an option. The autosave doesn't take away your ability to save anywhere; it just adds a 'guarantee' if you like that there's always a back-up save to rely on if something goes wrong (such as the game crashing or you picking a den you don't want).

The only reason I could ever think of wanting to get rid of the autosave option is when there is something i've done in the game that I don't want to be saved. For example, if my health was dangerously depleted and I didn't want to return to the spot where I was clearly in danger upon opening the game again, I would have wanted the option to turn off autosave and correct myself so I don't wound up in that situation.

Otherwise, I don't mind autosaving.

Well, the autosave happens every 5 minutes or so, so there's a little buffer if you mess up. Though that's what manual saves are for, right?

Good point. I guess all we need is the ability to adjust the time frame between autosaves.

Seems great to me. I can't tell how many frustrating times I realized too late that I hadn't saved my game progress. :P
