A question I've been meaning to ask. Do all sales of things in the store go towards new episodes. When I say all I don't mean like 50% xD
That is a very good question, and the answer is below-
Community donations and store income, can however be spent how the team wish. It is spent on anything from bug fixes, to forum upkeep as well as many more things in between. WolfQuest has a few major expenses and those are as follows:
- loboLoco, the head of Eduweb. He needs to be paid for all of his time programming the game, updating the chat lexicon, looking at bug reports, and the upkeep of the non-forum WolfQuest website. He also is in charge of hiring other programmers who are not part of the WolfQuest Team to help work on the development of the game or help with forum modifications.
- Cana, Project Coordinator. She needs to be paid to manage the forums, answer all e-mails, and respond to inappropriate behaviour and suggestions (and occasionally to do wolf-related programming, though that is typically paid for by specific grants or by people who wish her to do the program)
- The WolfQuest server and domain. It costs $5,000 a year just to keep our website at the level it's at right now, which is the only way to keep it from lagging so much with all the members and activity we have here. This does not include maintenance costs.
- Initial cost of store items. Especially things with the WolfQuest logo on, which have to be ordered in bulk and just hope they all sell so we can get our money back and actually make a profit on them.
