Re: Recent homepage hacking attempt
We should not have any more issues with hacking in the future. No need to worry

Re: Recent homepage hacking attempt
Well, since the hacker didn't get to the Forum itself, we couldn't get the IP for detecting the computer, and probably ban it from the system and website, but since Cana and Dave already changed the passwords to a more complex ones; this shouldn't happen again.Catarinab wrote:Thanks Sintact! We will try to keep the good work to help.
So let me ask only one more question: Is it quite solved or the hacker still around there "stalking" us?
Probably the user (if registered) is still floating around, but future damages shouldn't be made. With all this new information future problems will not be an issue.

Thank you Cana! I'm sure it wont be a problem any more. =DWQ Coordinator wrote:Any errors you're experiencing now is just us attempting to adjust the security and permissions of the site; it doesn't mean the hacker is trying to change things. So though it's related to the aforementioned hacking, it's just us trying to make things safer.

Re: Recent homepage hacking attempt
All signatures except the admins' disappear on the board announcements, if I am correct. So, neither. From what Cana and the mods have told us, the hacker never got to the forums.Catarinab wrote:Hey I noticed our signatures, exept Cana's gone. Was it the hacker or is a securit adjust?
Thanks for clearing this up, Cana.

Re: Recent homepage hacking attempt
Just wanting to clear something up from their website I've been looking around on;
inj3ct0r is a professional hacking site built for educational uses. This quote will explain it:
Our signatures do not appear in the Annoucements boards; it is a phpbb permission option that Cana does ethier not want, or has not set it. (: (If I'm correct)

..in other words, and since you guys have looked at the message that one of their members, w01f posted, they seem like they do not mean harm."The ultimate archive of exploits and vulnerable software and a great resource for vulnerability researchers and security professionals.
Our aim is to collect exploits from submit tals and various mailing lists and concentrate them in one, easy to navigate database.
This was written for educational purpose. Use it at your own risk. Author will be not responsible for any damage. // r0073r"

Thank you for the update Cana!
I'm glad to know the server is back to normal and Wolfquest hasn't been fully effected by this.

Thank you for informing us about this. I was fairly worried about the safety of the WQ site, but now I know there's nothing to worry about. Thanks again Cana!
