Welcome to the team Kiv!
Thanks, and I'll soon put up some information on 'adopting' an elephant or rhino, it seems as if it would be impossible to take one into your home, but by adopting, it means giving the money to help the African people take care of the rhino's and elephants. Make sure you see the movie for Disney Nature because it gives money to that group if you see te movei the opening week. (:

Sounds good, Spirit! It'll be great to see some more information on adopting a elephant/rhino.

Speaking of which, I shall have to start researching stuff myself soon enough ~

Actually, that brings up an interesting idea(Thanks SpiritPelt!). Considering we are getting more popular, I was thinking that perhaps our team would be able to adopt an animal. It's just an idea, not completely sertan as I'm not entirely sure how to do that. I've never officially 'adopted' or 'sponsored' an animal before. But it would be a good idea for our team. Even if so, depending on how to do it, I might end up needing to ask for permission myself before I do that.

Thanks for accepting me! I will contribute as often as possible, hopefully Green Paws will grow quickly!

Anyway, since SpiritPelt is covering 'adoption' I thought I would bring up another item to discuss that requires no money, just a bit of reading. Most of them are as simple as writing letters or signing petitions online.

This is great of WQ, to do all of these things, I love Green Paws, it is an inspiriation for many people and animals lives are being saved all the time by the people who care, I hope Green Paws gets more and more members.

While I was at it, I found some information about tigers.
There used to be 100,000 some, tigers one hundred years ago, now, there is 3,200, is the closest rounded. When animals are extinct, the ecosystem can be at risk for a while until it is back on track, loosing a creature will bring a lot of trouble to their ecosystem because animals will over-populate and the food web/circle of life, will all be messed up.
This fundation is by WWF which is very successful and it wants to save the tigers. You can do anything, it's just if you want to...
Here is the link: http://www.savetigersnow.org/solutions

Found another little thing about penguins, here is what they said to do to stop melting the ice caps:

Help! The earth is warming up because of all that CO2 people are pumping in the atmosphere. But if the ice caps melt and the sea rises, where are we penguins going to live? Help save us. Save energy. And save money too. By replacing your conventional light bulbs with a Mini-Lynx Fast-Start or Mini-Lynx Compact bulb.

Mini-Lynx is a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) with its own self-contained control ballast within the base. This means that these lamps can be used as a direct retro-fit for less efficient incandescent light bulbs with E14, E27 or B22 lamp caps.
The most important features of Mini-Lynx Fast-Start and Mini-Lynx Compact lamps are:

•80% energy savings, compared to standard incandescent light bulbs
•Very small dimensions, compared to standard incandescent light bulbs
•Instant 'flicker free start', with no switch delay
•Available in a variety of colours - Homelight, Coolwhite and Daylight - and in a wide range of wattages.

Hey guys, I've been watching this particular topic since it was created and was going to see how it went for little to decide whether or not to join. Alas, I have chosen to ask to join, so, may I join as a commentator? ^^

Adopting an animal, eh? That actually sounds like a great idea to me, it'll be good to help a cause as well as provide an extra type of 'feature' for the team at the same time :3

Yes, that is exactly the purpose! Though, again, I'll have to talk that over with my parents. As it does cost money.

Also, I'm a little slow on this topic this weekend. Sorry about that, I have a guest sleeping over and such.
Now on the other hand, very interesting information guys! I'm going to go check them out more thoroughly later, and make a better comment regarding them. ^^"

Hullo, I'm just wondering- would you guys ever be adding a photographer/journalist position? I'm not exactly sure how it would be incorporated into the team (what I'm thinking is the person will go out and take pictures related to nature, and/or then write a little piece about it), but if such a position existed, I would be interested in joining.

That sounds fun , if we do have sponsored animal should we change it monthly. Like this month it could be red pandas . That way each month we could have a focus on.

Also I have few tips to keep wildlife where you live clean and safe for both humans and animals. Easy place to start is in your own back yard . It best have a clean yard not have sharp pointy objects that animals can get into. If animals steps on class it can harm the animal and get it wounded. Another easy step is to get already used milk jug , cut an opening then glue something that soft around the edges. You can then put bird seed or chop up other fruits. Then you have a home made bird feeder.

My old elementary school actually adopted an animal from the zoo (they adopted a grizzly bear, hehe x3). The money they gave would help with the bears' enclosure, needs, ect. At my current school, they do lots of fundraisers and things to get money to donate to WWF or local SPCA's or other charities. ^^
I personally have only donated to WWF and an SPCA a couple times, but I'm hoping to 'adopt' an animal sometime soon.

I personally love that idea of a photographer, and a journalist as well! I want to hear what Zethra has to say. =3

And sponsoring an animal would be a wonderful idea as well; did one quick search and found one place that has animal sponsoring (though of course it would require money):
-These are actual animals in the Milwaukee County Zoo:

http://www.zoosociety.org/SponsorAnimal ... ?item=self
...and then there's always adopting an animal from WWF where the money would go towards their conservation efforts:
http://www.worldwildlife.org/ogc/species_category.cfm
But again that all would require money, and it could be a bit difficult to work out.

All of those are great suggestions; it's always best to recycle things like milk jugs and turn them into something helpful than just throw them away~
I'm really frustrated right now because I just read something within the past day or so on how you can help wildlife in your backyard....it's killing me because I can't remember if it was a site, email, letter in the mail, or what. I'll post it if I find it.

Just a few more ways you can help conserve^^

Perhaps I should be a researcher instead, lulz.
