I have always been fascinated by cougars, and wildlife biologists are continuing to learn more about them. While the solitary nature of cougars presents a challenge to study, research shows that there is more to the behavior of these animals than simply meeting to mate or fight.

This National Geographic article discusses meal sharing between adult cougars, and how it challenges previously held assumptions about these elusive felines. https://news.nationalgeographic.com/201 ... s-animals/

This scientific study in Science Magazine also discusses cougars sharing food with each other, and provides a broader overview of cougar social interactions in general. The article is free to view. It also discusses the benefits individual cougars can receive from this behavior. http://advances.sciencemag.org/content/3/10/e1701218
