"Faceless" seems misleading-- the first picture clearly shows what is its eye and you can tell it has a face from the eye's positioning and its jawline.

Sometimes it amazes me how many freakish things come out of our oceans. Somewhat unrelated, but yesterday I found out about lampreys which give me that same horrifying, alien-esque vibe
