Knoxville Zoo celebrates birth of 2 red pandas
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two new red pandas were born a week ago at the Knoxville Zoo, which has more red panda births than any other zoo in North America.
The two fuzzy cubs, born June 14, are small enough to fit in one hand and have yet to be named.
Already on exhibit with their mother, 5-year-old Kumari, the zoo's curators are keeping a close eye on them.
Red pandas are native to areas in India, Myanmar and China, but they are endangered because their habitats are disappearing because of growing human populations.
Sarah Glass, a curator, said the Knoxville Zoo has had 94 red panda births since 1977. She estimated that 3,000 to 5,000 still live in the wild.

I've planned to make a trip to the Knoxville Zoo sometime this summer, so hopefully I will be able to get a glimpse of them and share the photos with everyone. Red pandas are just too precious!
