If you Could Study one Animal for a day What Would it be??

Post by BeatingHeartsCry » Wed Dec 28, 2011 8:24 pm

Being an extreme animal lover, I love to learn new things about wild animals and learn about Rare Species and Endangered Species. I love the idea of traveling and studying animals in their habitats and documenting all they do, how they live, etc. I would love to become a Biologist and study animals as a career. If I could study any animal for a day, That would be an extremly hard decision because they're are so many animals I am curious about.

I would love to hear the animal(s) you would like to study for a day, or possibly make a career studying, I would also enjoy hearing about if you want to travel places and what animals interest you there and if your interested in becoming a biologist

Any type of feline, though I'd prefer a serval. Felines are intelligent and interesting creatures. They've always intrigued me, especially the serval, who is also my favorite animal.

Hmm... Maybe a crocodile. I might be interesting to see baby crocs and adults hunting wildebeest during the Great Migration. what a wonderful sight!

I think I'd be happy with any animal from the Canidae genus. I'm studiyng Zoology at the moment (study of animals...a branch of Biology) at university...so hopefully when I graduate I can work with wolves or coyotes.

I wouldn't mind studying crows or ravens, as they are extremely intelligent...almost on par with dolphins!

Hm, I think I'd pick the lion... I've always been quite interested in lions in general and I think you'd get to see a lot in a day of studying lions (the lazing about aside ;P)

I agree with Silverness, I want to study lions. I've been interested in lions and I wanted to study them for a class project, but my mom says, "Pick something in our state!" lol.

I'd probably pick the dolphin. That, or any type of bird.

Honestly, this is a really hard decision to make. I love all animals and wish I could have the chance to study them all. If my choice doesn't include wolf, I would have to nominate the cheetah. I have always been fascinated by them. Or perhaps a lion or tiger.

That would be a hard decision for me and most people as you can see. But if I had a whole day to study, by the end of the day I should be quite educated about that certain animal. I know a fair amount about wolves, horses, domestic animals, lions, tigers and various breeds of bears. So I would have to say sheep, that would be the whole origin, biology, ecology ect.

Ooo, what an awesome topic~

Well, I plan on making a career out of studying animals, and I'd really like to study owls. If I had to narrow it down to just one species though... probably the Sparred Owl. It's a hybrid between a Barred Owl and Spotted Owl, and not much is known about them.

If I could choose to work with any of the animals at a local zoo of mine, I would choose one of the following:
- Mexican gray wolves
- cougars
- turkey vultures
- cheetahs
- maned wolves
- stingrays
- black-footed ferrets (they have a rehabilitation center in the zoo for them)

It's honestly quite difficult to choose from them all. ^^:

African wild dogs, definitely.
I've always loved canines and find them more fascinating than cats.

Plus-- AWD's don't get much attention, probably because people are too busy fawning over wolves.
I'm starting to find African wild dogs more beautiful than wolves now.

If I could study one animal for a day I would probably have to pick something from the Corvus genus (ravens, crows, etc.)

To be as specific as possible I suppose I would choose the American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos) simply because I find them absolutely fascinating. I mean, sure, they're quite common around here (midwest America) but there's just something about them. Part of it is due to the fact that they never seem to forget faces and looking into their eyes is a bit creepy and weird taking into account how mysterious they are. I suppose I just want to know what and how they think and learn so by actually being out in the fields with them documenting my own observations and experiences.

Quite a difficult decision for me. Possibly either a Lion, Tiger, Cheetah, Wolf or Snow Leopard. I have a fascination with them all.
