San Francisco zoo

Post by whitebracken » Tue May 06, 2008 8:14 pm

I live in S.F. so I thought I should put a topic about it here. The SF zoo is not the best zoo, many bad happenings there. Recently a tiger named Titiana attacked a 17 year-old visitor. Sadly, the tiger had to be shot to prevent further cautioalties. The 17 year old died due to him and his friends taunting Titiana, this hasnt been proved, but there are evedents this occured. Other animal attacks happened, some with gorrilas, monkeys, elephants, sela, and other animals. Yet, the SF zoo is also educational, fun, and great for the family (unless a feline "friend" comes out of its cage!) You can add to this! XD

there were drunk guys taunting it. i think they dont know how it got out but think it jumped or climbed out. the guys that taunted it i think might have thrown a board or something over the moat, taunting/ helping it to escape

no, they were'nt drunk. Two of the victims friends taunted the tiger, Im sure of it. The Tiger exibit is seperated from the guests by a long and deep ditch. The tiger suprisingly jumped that length, experts say the lenght of the ditch was to small. The cage has been modified and now the zoo is reopened.

The fact that they had to kill the tiger made my eyes flame, just like they did when they shot the cougar in IL. I live no where near San Francisco,so I'm not going there anytime soon. I bet it'd be cool to go there though!

On the Christmas night of December 25, 2007, a Siberian tiger named Tatiana escaped from her exhibit. She attacked a group of three friends, killing Carlos Sousa Jr. (17), and injuring brothers Amritpal (19) and Kulbir (23) Dhaliwal. There is no clear proof of what led up to this, but while looking for evidence the walls of the tiger enclosure were found to be a bit too short: twelve and a half feet high when they were supposed to be at least sixteen feet and four inches. Before they reopened they fixed the walls.

Currently, the zoo is having a hard time with a lower number of visitors, budget cuts, and the recent death of a mother giraffe. :( There are plans for the zoo to convert into rescue center.

I remeber the last time I visited, there were peafowl running amok. I'm not sure if they let them do that all the time, but it was the best thing ever. XD Everywhere you went in the zoo, you could hear them calling out to each other. I can mimic their call now. So funny and annoying. :D

I might go there again this week. Imma excited. :D
