What is your top five favorite animals?

Choosing is hard and it tends to change a bit over time, but this is my current list:

1. Wolves and spotted hyenas (can't choose between those two)
2. Orcas
3. Large domestic dog breeds
4. Big cats
5. Birds of prey (mostly eagles, vultures and owls)

2. Birds in general - If I had to choose one, probably red-tailed hawks
3. Horses
4. White-tailed deer
5. Snow leopards

In no particular order:
1. Wolf (no notes)
2. Dog (so many phenotypes!)
3. Cheetah (I am speed, very specialized, interesting ongoing conservation efforts)
4. Pike species (cool-looking fish, encounter them at work)
5. Turtles (Cute when smol but also dangerous when of the snapping variety, interesting cultural significance to First Nations, encounter them at work)
