Learning the Ropes {WQ 3 Screenshots}

Post by Chelseadawn » Sun Aug 04, 2019 12:19 pm

Its been interesting getting to know the game and how it works. I am beyond excited about the changes made to improve game-play. Putting real effort into keeping my wolf not only alive, but thriving. pleaase note my wolfs name is A'ayda [Uh-ay-diuh] but were calling her Ayda to make it easier on everyone. (aka me because i hate typing)

I jumped in head first with my poor wolf, and basically forced her to take on more than she could. Her health went down to nearly nothing, so she forced her mate (Mason) to tag along into pack territory to find food that didn't need hunting. Eventually they bumped into a carcass and were able to finally eat, and were on the road to recovery. Until they woke up the next day to a pack of 3 strangers that weren't there to be asking questions. So they high-tailed it out of there and struggled another day or two before finally being strong enough to take down a mule deer.

They are not going to just let it go, and I think Ayda's resource guarding is too much, she almost doesn't even want to share with Mason, so you can imagine her rage when an uninvited guest arrived the next morning to pick off of her hard work. She doesn't take kindly to freeloaders lol

and waking up to this - Mason is very good about helping me out, he will often take lead in both hunting and fighting.
The look on that strangers face... I think he knows he done messed up.

and off we go, Ayda and I still have a lot to learn

I quickly figured out how to finally access the screenshot folder for photo mode! [yay me] so now you guys can all look at prettier pictures.

Well how come you found a energetic mate. Almost all the wolves I meet are lazy XD. I also hate sharing kills with my lazy mate. (mostly because I do all the work).
prey:
hare
beaver
mule deer
elk
moose
competitors:
raven
eagle
fox
coyote
wolf
cougar
bear

I have done some exploring and lurking as a lone male wolf for a while and have been sort of analyzing the different behaviors of the female dispersals. I’ve noticed a few differences in them , I can tell who is bolder and who is more cautious, and it’s getting easier to decide what I really want in a mate for this guy. He’s got his eyes on a particular female that has chased off quite a few others and she’s a 4 Star diversity , but Reuben is also dead set on stealing the perfect mate from a pack , he tried Wapiti and ended up killing a male but when a female showed up she was only 2 Star diversity and Reuben said no thanks, and is making his way up north to the other pack, to see what he could find out there. It’s been really fun playing as him lately

I was lucky enough to get a mate with high diversity on my first try who was also very helpful with hunting and fighting. I think that the personalities and diversity levels on the dispersals are completely randomized, so you really just have to pay close attention to their behaviors during courtship and hope for the best. Trying to find a mate from one of the larger packs in the map is both challenging and risky from what I've seen, because you'll need to worry about more aggressive wolves trying to attack you while you try to court a potential mate, which can be quite dangerous.
