Hey everyone! So in an effort to be a little more active and get some thoughts and opinions from you all on my photography, I thought I'd share some photographs.
Most recently I took an online photography course at my college and I loved it. It took me out of what I'm used to taking photos of and I got to think in perspectives that I've never thought in. I didn't have any guidance in the class other than being told to take photographs in different compositions, colors, and lighting. Or I had to emulate a famous photographer. I felt it made me appreciate photography more and learn more about how I take photographs. So that's one recommendation from me- do something you aren't used to! And if you can, taking a photography class is great too.
I'm hoping to purchase a DSLR soon, so all I have to use currently is a little Sony Cyber-shot. It does it's job, haha.
Anyways, here are some photographs of mine, the first few I post will be from my projects during this photography class. Some are edited, but only in either brightness, contrast, or to grayscale.
Honeybees out in my university's Lepidoptera Trail.
Autumn leaves that I thought looked cool in a nearby stream.
Dried-up juvenile horseshoe crab I found on the beach.

Wow... Simply wow, I'm in love...
Simply AMAZING!
If you allow me, may I use your pics as my desktop wallpaper?
I ran out of snarky remarks, unfortunately.

Whoa Kiv, these are really impressive! I love the colours in these shots. If you can already manage to get photographs this nice with your Sony, then I cannot wait to see what you'll be able to snap with a DSLR, heh.

They're a bit blurrier when larger, but eh. Such are the restrictions with my camera haha.
Thank you for the kind words so far folks. I'm eager to share more. =3

Can't decide which one is my favorite. I really love the picture of the leaves in the stream because of the water "outlining" the leaves, but I love how powerful the horseshoe crab is by itself.

Thanks guys! The leaves in the stream was probably my favorite photograph as well- it was one of the first ones I took for the class.

Gorgeous photos, I really love the horseshoe crab. I like the leaves and how the water outlines them a lot as well.
Looking forward to seeing more from you if you decide to share!

oh man. these shots are really great, Kivia! i especially love the horseshoe crab photo; the clarity and the absence of color really make it an outstanding piece. as for the others, they're very well done too! i can't wait to see more photos from you
also lol at how we're pretty much in the same predicament with our current cameras :')

Those are incredible. I honestly love the sunset one; you really did a fantastic job at capturing that. The flowers look gorgeous, too - did you edit those or are they really that purple? Either way, it makes for a beautiful image. Thank you once again for sharing these!
