Re: Puppy or adult
Wolves stop growing around one year of age, but they may not reach s.exual maturity right away; the range is from one to three years when it is reached. Until they reach maturity, I wouldn't consider them full-fledged adults yet. It really depends on the wolf itself and when it does reach that point. But by one year of age, young wolves will be able to (actively) participate in hunts and aren't entirely dependent on others, unlike when they were "pups." Wolves that are approximately one year of age are often referred to as "yearlings."Lobe123 wrote:The wolf puppies are still puppies with one year old or are adults?
Wolves will also begin to disperse around this time and moreso when they reach maturity and seek out a mate, but they have been known to disperse even earlier than one year of age. Some choose to leave their natal pack much later. The time when they choose to disperse can depend on the environment around them and availability of food, as well. In short, dispersing does not always favor a specific age or time, and is often dependent upon various circumstances.
