What I was wondering is will wolves sometimes live in urban areas?
Because recently we moved to a new neighborhood, and it took us about a week to realize the neighborhood was infested with coyotes. It's not uncommon to see them strolling down the street and hear them howling. I've even seen one napping on my front lawn.
Some people in the area claim to have seen wolves, too. Specifically, a pair of large gray wolves- male and female. It's not just one claim, either, lots of people say they've seen them, especially by the strip malls. There's a few others who say it's just people who can't tell the difference between a wolf and a coyote who claim to see the two wolves, but I don't believe that.
So would a wolf (or in this case, a pair of wolves) live in an urban area? I think they might, for the same reason the coyotes live here- less competition, easy food source- but I'd like an opinion from some people who have more knowledge on wolves and coyotes.

Re: Urban Wolves?
Just like coyotes, yes, it is possible for wolves and other wild animals to become situated in urban areas. This often creates problems for both canine and human and thus it is wise to take precautions, i.e. if you have pets, never leave them unsupervised while outside, don't let them free-roam, etc. Wolves can be particularly defensive/aggressive towards dogs, so do be careful.
