I've posted couple of articles about dire wolves in my own website, which is about wolves, but I don't know is it appropriate to post link here. If it is - I will post link directly to my articles. The information is gathered by me from few sources.

Cheers guys, nice forum!

  • Hey WolfNature,

If you have information that you think would be an accurate contribution to this topic, then by all means please do share with us here!

pickledham's suggestion is also valid, if you would like to start your own topic in GWD for the links. But there's no harm in adding information to this topic as well, so the choice is yours!

Look up "Beringian wolf". This was a true grey wolf that evolved into a dire wolf-like creature in Alaska, but failed to expand further south due to true dire wolves already being there.

Thanks for this information! I've heard some things about Dire Wolves. I am most interested in a variety of colors and sizes. Also, their life. I am looking for still more information and videos of Dire Wolves.

Yeah a lot of people in the game when they describe they say they are dire wolves. At the time i had only heard of them so i decided to do some research. So yeah i would agree with all the people that said dire wolves are cool. But I do have one question what does dire exactly mean?
We are all perfectly imperfect.

Dire has many meanings, in English it means to cause or involve in fear or suffering, to indicate trouble or disaster to say how urgent something is.

Originally it's a French word meaning to say something.

But Canis Dirus however, means fearsome dog.
