Lionkill is a strong wolf.
But his leader feared him and drove him from the pack.
In hopes that he will never come back.
But Lionkill, brave and true.
Knows something he will never do.
He'll never join another pack.
For now he is a wanderer.

would you mind if you can avoid posts like this? they don`t really have a point....thats a lot of crying and laughing for just one line!
I saw Promise of the wolves and I`m waiting for the paperback to come out or get it at the library. I think its about a wild wolf living with an early human during the ice age or something...something about the first dog in the world or whatnot.

Re: Anyone read promise of the wolves?
i thought it was a good book and hope a second one comes out sometime soon; it did say "the wolf chronicles" on the cover, so its a good guess that there is going to be a sequel to it

I'm currently reading it. It came out here a few months ago, and I think I like it just as much as The Sight. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Re: Anyone read promise of the wolves?
sorry I got your hopes up! I didn`t mean to...I meant I saw the book on a shelf.
anyways, I got it at the library and I`m going to be honest....
First off, the story plot line is like something written by a two year old. I`ve seen more original plotlines on WolfQuest that are far more enetertiaining to read then Promise of the Wolves. The writing is nothing special...it didn`t grab my attention with the borring narrative that skips loosley on the character. The characters are also really 2 dimensional, like that Ruuqo guy. Its the typical role play back of power hungry leader being a "pup killer" and then having magical "elders" tell him to stop before he kills off the main character.
and four week old wolf pups are just balls of fur....yet they make a jurney to a densite all on their own with no help from anyone which is rather unrealistic. The wolves are so heavily anthromorphized that basic wolf biology and facts get waterd down. The original concept of wolves living in the ice age alongside humans is original, but I was disapointed how the author just turned what could have been a good story to a b list Warriors version of wolves.
I suggest White Fang or Runt if you want something with a bit more bite to it.
