I have experimented with several BBcode, and HTML codes. If you wish, here is a guide on how to combine BBcodes and use them to your advantage within posts. (without breaking the guidelines)
Colored Italics, Bolds and Underlines
Firstly, pick which one you wish to use. The same tactic works with each of these BBcodes; so you only need one to start with.
Now, click the , or bbcode; it should look like this
Now that you've done that, select the color you wish to post with. Make sure your mouse clicker is inside the underline,bold or italics bbcode, whichever you chose to use, and click the color bbcode that you want to use. After that's done; it should look something like this: [note that you don't have to use the color shown, any color will work]
Now that you've done that, type in the text that you want and first, preview it. It will show up with a Colored version of whatever BBcode you've chosen. Once you've gotten it how you like, you can press submit if you want. Note:when underlining Colored text, the actual underline is white not color but the words will be colored. There isn't' a way to fix this, that's just how the bbcode works.
How to use Italics, Underline and Bold with Large Text
The following BBcode, despite how it sounds, is actually rather tricky. It took me a while to find this out, and if done wrong only the Bold/Italic and Underline will show. The text size will be lost.
I recommend only using this for Titles in topics, not in regular posts. It's only to keep things well balanced and organized.This doesn't work with colors, I have tried and it doesn't come out. Sorry!
Okay, so first click on the code you want to use; it should start of relatively same as when doing the Colored ones. Now, once you've chosen the code you want; click the size text you want. (the code must be inside the italic, bold or underline bbcode in order for it to work.)
Now, type in what you want. And click preview to check it out first, once you've done your post (again recommended when making a topic, not post) press submit.

BBCode refers to the safe implementation of HTML most commonly used by the majority of forum solutions.
The BBCode FAQ -- easily accessed by clicking the linked 'BBCode' where tags are indicated as either ON or OFF on the right side of the posting page -- provides a lot of information on its own.
Predefined BBCodes
─⋆─
BBcodes hard-coded into phpBB.
Bold
Font weight is applied to the displayed text. BBCode icon:
[quote]Type your text here.[/quote]
[quote="Username"]Username. Type your text here.[/quote]
[quote=Username post_id=0]Post link. Type your text here.[/quote]
[quote=Username time=0]Timestamp. Type your text here.[/quote]
[quote=Username user_id=1]User link. Type your text here.[/quote][
[quote=Username post_id=0 time=0 user_id=1]All variables. Type your text here.[/quote]
Notes: By default, quoting a user post will attach username, post_id, time and user_id. Variables can be combined and used together or trimmed back, but post_id, time and user_id must be associated with a username to work.
username on its own must be wrapped in quotation marks, as shown in the second example.
post_id links shown in the third example are acquired through permalinks. (Click the subject ("subject of the topic/post" or "Re: subject of the topic/post") or the page icon to the left side of "by <Username>", then copy the numbers displayed after either "p=" or "p" in your browser's address bar. E.g., to link to this post, I'd copy ONE of the highlighted numbers: viewtopic.php?p=2407882#p2407882.) The upwards-pointing arrow ↑ behaves as a linkback to the quoted post, or to any other sourced post.
user_id will link the username to the specified ID and generates a notification telling that user they have been quoted. To find a user_id, search the memberlist, click their profile, copy the numbers after "u=". E.g., u=1 references the default "anonymous" user handle responsible for storing leftover "guest" posts from deleted accounts. As a system account, it has no profile to view.
Every timestamp in phpBB is displayed in Unix format.
Code
Displays text, BBcode, and media in a code box, allowing for easy copy-pasting and demonstration of layout, code use, etc. BBCode icon:
[color=color]Type your text here.[/color]
[color=#hex]Type your text here.[/color]
Notes: Opacity can be defined in hex-only. E.g., color=#0000ff50 displays blue text at 50% opacity. Full transparency can be applied using color=transparent.
Please be considerate of your fellow community-goers' eyes and keep style colour schemes in mind when choosing a colour for your text!
This code requires membership in at least one of the following usergroups: Image & Media Tags. This code is disallowed in user signatures. Forum Guidelines apply.
URLs
Rather than the old method of highlighting then copy-pasting a link due to its absence, this feature makes it very easy to go to a link with nothing more than a click. BBCode icon:
Note: "[bbcode]" alludes to color or other such codes that change formatting.
Llst
Creates an indented and bulleted list. Using this code without a flag defaults to the circle bullet. BBCode icons: and Valid flags:none | circle | disc | square | a (alphabetic) | i (Roman numerals).Source: BBCode FAQ entry.
Usage:
Note: Alphabetic and Roman numeral list options support uppercase listing or lowercase listing. (E.g., "A" or "I" renders the entire list in uppercase. "a" or "i" renders the entire list in lowercase.)
Custom BBCodes
─⋆─
Alignment
Alows users to align text and media left, right, center, or define the justify flag. BBCode icon:
As of 7-May-2020, the old right, center, and left standalone codes no longer appear on the BBCode bar. However, they can still be used!
[left]Type your text here.[/left]
[center]Type your text here.[/center]
[right]Type your text here.[/right]
[align=center|right|left|justify]Type your text here.[/align]
Anchor & Go to
These BBcodes only work as a pair; they do not work separately. These codes grant users the option of inserting a goto table of contents and using anchors as "jump-to" points to take readers to specific sections of your topic. Useful for threads with long posts.
These codes do not appear in the BBCode bar displayed on the posting page.
Applies a slow, rhythmic blink/fade in-and-out effect repeatedly. Useful for posts and signatures! BBCode icon:
'Blink' code does not appear in the BBCode bar displayed on the posting page.
As the name would correctly imply, this BBcode allows you to use a different font style. Try to use user-friendly fonts such as those listed in the font menu; this works based on the fonts installed on your computer. Something someone else can't see may instead default to Times New Roman. BBCode dropdown menu:
Float
Allows you to align text and media left or right, complete with text/media wrap. Variables allow for right and left alignment only, and this code forces text to wrap around media. Media can conflict and obstruct quote and code boxes, though it should not be too much of a problem if the images are relatively small!
This code does not appear in the BBCode bar displayed on the posting page.
This code is not recommended for signature use. The alignment codes are a far better alternative.
Example: The WQ2.5 wolf badge is the demonstration.
Usage:
'Hidden' defines registered users-only content, preventing guests from being able to read anything without first registering and/or logging in. BBCode icon:
'Hide' code does not appear in the BBCode bar displayed on the posting page.
Example:
Hidden Content
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.
'Hide' hides all content between its tags. Content will only be visible in the post editor, when quoting a post, or via any modern browser's inspect or view source feature.
Places a horizontal line/divider in the post for any desired formatting purposes. While it is a fairly faint line, rest assured that it is there. ^^
There is no text input for this code. BBCode icon:
[shadow=color]Type your text here.[/shadow]
[dropshadow=color]Type your text here.[/dropshadow]
Resize Image
This code automatically resizes images to a user-defined value. Please don't stretch pages, and keep the dimensions at a reasonable width. Forum Guidelines apply. (Best values are 1024, 800, 640, or 480. Be considerate of mobile & tablet users.)
Input scrolls endlessly in one direction or slides until it halts on one side of the post. Direction is not fixed, therefore users may specify up, down, left or right, however speed has a predefined value. [scroll][/scroll] is an alternative code which only supports endless scrolling, not sliding. BBCode icons: (old, multi-directional) and (ABBC3)

Note: If using (at)username, a dropdown menu will appear. You need to click the username of the matching recipient to autocomplete the mention for it to work!
NFO
Allows users to create/paste and post ASCII art correctly. BBCode icon:

BBCodes Requiring Staff Consent
─⋆─
All codes under this section may not be used without first seeking consent from an administrator or moderator. Examples of their coding have not been included, so you will need to private message any active member from either of the named staff roles. This list will also include forum-, usergroup- and/or topic-specific restrictions for each individual entry; using any codes outside of the designated forums or topics may warrant a warning and see your post or profile edited, and access to the code(s) revoked. Play nice.
Currently, @Neamara can be messaged for consent. Active members of staff are monitoring the use of these codes.
