By Beatriz Cabanas, June 29th
NBC-7 - SAN DIEGO

A litter of seven endangered Mexican gray wolf puppies were born at the California Wolf Center (CWC) in Julian, California, in San Diego's East County last month and are now being monitored so they can eventually return to the wild.

The seven-week-old litter contains four male and three female puppies that were born on, or about, May 8, according to the CWC. The center said the pups are all very healthy.

For the most part, canine litters can be fairly large; that isn't exclusive to a subspecies of wolf.

that is very exciting!
my favourite games on the computer are: WolfQuest, AnimalJam, Star Stable, howrse and all the dreamzer games.

My favourite books are: Warriors, The Wolf Chronicles, survivers and Spirit Animals.

I will be getting a horse in about 3 years and a half years. So excited!

(from the frequently asked questions in the Q&A)
the average litter size for gray and red wolves is 4 to 6, but sometimes fewer pups are born and sometimes more.

Night is now falling, so ends this day.
The road is now calling, and I must away.
Over hill and under tree, through lands where never light has shone.
By silver streams that run down to the sea.

That's good to hear, hopefully the pups will do well at the center.
