Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
A few years ago we traveled to Norway with a trailer, to visit a zoo. I think the name was Polar Zoo. The park held two packs, one with few wild wolves and one with the offspring off the wild ones. There were also 4 rather small, about 6 months old pups. They were all so beautiful and the pups were adorable. You could get quite close to them and when there was a presentation about the pups, a baby started to cry in the crowd, so the small pups started to howl! it was so cute and rather amazing. Then we headed to the offspring of the wild ones, and they were so close to the gate of the enclosure, and very curious and brave. I got the change to pet them since they let some of the crowd inside the enclosure.Something I'll never forget.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
I have never seen a wild gray wolf, but I have seen them in captivity at a zoo in Virginia. However, I have seen a wild red wolf. My family was driving down a back road, and two adults and a smaller wolf ran across the road in front of us. It was getting dark, and the only reason I saw enough of them was due to the dim light from our headlights. At first I thought they were coyotes, but I did some research when we got home. It turns out that they were indeed red wolves, and there had been sightings of them in that area.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
I have never seen a wolf, wild or in captivity. I'm disappointed in this, wolves have become one of my favorite animals since I discovered WolfQuest. I hope someday (hopefully soon) to get to see a wolf whether in captivity or wild.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
I've seen multiple wolves before. Though, where I live, the Fish And Game Serivces keep saying that they don't live here, everyone and their brother has seen one. (I do know the difference between a coyote and a wolf.) I believe that there are at most two packs, (although it could be one, large pack that moves about their territory regularly,) with at most four members each. (The area in which they live couldn't support any more wolves than that.) The wolves mostly keep to themselves, and you only see them at the end of winter, or near the beginning of autumn. The two I've personally encountered clearly enough to identify them normally would be a smoky gray wolf, and a more red hued wolf of a large size. I saw the gray wolf while out on a hike this past summer up near the local ski area. It was lurking by the stream off to the right of the trail about four miles in. I didn't manage to get any photos of the magnificent wolf before it disappeared, unfortunately enough. The second, a red hued wolf, I saw nearly ten miles to the west later on in November, along a logging path on another mountain path. This one I got a long enough glimpse to get a picture. I need to find that picture if I can...

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
Yes. Me and my family visited Jasper Park and Minnesota Zoo long ago. That is my first time that I can see the wolves with my own eyes. The best sighting is in Jasper Park.

Oh, yes, I must've forgotten this. Last year at the National Fair there were wolves you could see. It was some sort of show, the wolves did tricks.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
Personally, I've never seen a live wolf. I've had my fair share of viewing models, and even a taxidermised wolf in a wildlife centre [who died of natural causes], but never a living, breathing wolf. I've encountered dingoes and the such, but I've never seen a wolf enclosure in all the different zoos and centres I've visited.
One day, however, I do wish to travel and experience the wonder of seeing wolves, as I'm often told it's an amazing thing to do.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
I haven't seen a wolf up close, especially in captivity.
The only wild creature almost similar is a coyote.
Although, I have received photos of wolves from 'Defenders of Wildlife' (which I never signed up for..)
Hopefully one day, I would travel to another state, that wolves reside.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
In a zoo. xD. I remember, just watching them, sleeping in their enclosure. Along with a couple foxes. One time in my neighborhood, I saw something, I could see it, it's just hard to remember, but it was too big to be a fox. It was just, a weird place for a wolf to be. But I was fascinated watching the wolves in the zoo, and that wolf (?) in my neighborhood.

Re: Have you ever seen a Wolf?
Where I'm from, there are no wolves in the local zoo. So, unfortunatley, I've never had the opporunity to actually view a real wolf right in front of me. I'd like to someday though, I think it'd be neat. Only I would rather not see them held in captivity, but instead, in a natural habitat at a safe distance away.

Agree for I'm positive we all wish for that experience and hopefully it's a good one when we get that chance to come across a wild wolf sometime in our lives.Ameerie wrote:Wow!!
