How strong are your feelings about wolves?

Post by BeatingHeartsCry » Sat Jul 16, 2011 1:02 pm

As an extreme wolf lover myself I enjoy hearing how much people love wolves and how strongly they feel about their exsistence and their safety, also how wolves might effect you? Maybe they inspire you to do things. Anyways I would love to hear your thoughts.

I do not care for wolves, or any canine really. I much prefer felines. But I don't want wolves to go extinct ─ after all, who does want any species of animal to? But if they did, I would shrug, have a few minutes of silence, and continue with my life.

This. But I do like lots of canids (wolves not being my favorite canid), but felids are better in my opinion.

Wolves in general will not be going extinct anytime soon, I can assure you that. Although, not all wolves are out of the way for extinction - the Mexican wolf (Canis lupus baileyi) is at risk, for instance.

I see wolves as I see any other animal/predator - don't really give them any special treatment when it comes to "wanting them to not be hunted" and so forth. I'm fine with hunting so long as it is proper and used for population management.

I love wolves! They are amazing creatures which are beautiful and make a great impact to the ecosystems that they live in. The Siberian Husky dog got me interested as they look similar, and now I love them to pieces xD

Very well put Koa, as long as all hunting doesn't turn into a poaching fest and at least stay managed it's fine.

Lolz, I love Huskies, I want one sooo bad because their the closest thing to a wolf I can have..... Well maybe you never know XD

They're a high maintenance dog however, that's the only problem for me

I bet but when huskies are actually wolf hybrids it's very interesting to me

All dogs are equally genetically related to wolves. ^_- They have just as much wolf in them as a chinese crested or yorkie. (even though many people think they look like wolves, but the anatomy is so different from that of a wolf.)

Anyhow, back on topic, please.

I think wolves are very beautiful, and i do enjoy them quite alot c: But i do support wolf hunting to decrease population, and i also support shooting a wolf if it attacks livestock, pets, or people especially.

Yes wolves are very beautiful creatures and yes in some cases you must for population reasons and in some cases live stock protection , but really in all I do not like the thoughts of shooting wolves

Not as strong as they used to be. My love affair with wolves ended when I realised that being overly passionate about one animal is just as unhealthy and can be as equally misleading as despising it. Plus, I realised that many of the wolf's esteemed traits are easily applicable to other species.

I suppose I can sum up what I think of wolves as simply "interesting".
I cannot see that wolves are in any way nobler in character than hyenas- Frederick Selous
