What does it mean if “the online lexicon is unavailable”?

Post by WQ Coordinator » Mon Apr 19, 2010 4:06 pm

If you are not playing the most recent version of the game, you are probably receiving that message because older versions of the game have a disabled chat lexicon. There have been many additional fixes to the chat lexicon and filtration system since previous versions of the game, so we decided to remove the ability to chat without these added filters.

If you receive that message while playing version 2.0 or higher, it is possibly because:
  • 1. The lexicon file is unavailable because a new version is being uploaded onto the server.
    2. The server is 'lagging' and the game can't load it.
    3. Your internet connection is unreliable and the game can't load it.
    4. There is some other temporary 'hiccup' with your internet or the game server; please try again.
As of November 2010, the WolfQuest server has been slow because of the sheer number of people playing WolfQuest and loading pages on the forums. If you receive a message that the online lexicon is unavailable and you have recently downloaded the game, check the forums to see how quickly the pages are refreshing. If it takes a while, it means the servers are busy- please try playing again later (but you do not have to redownload and install the game).

If the consistently won't load, you may want to try reading through some of the other suggestions in the Multiplayer FAQ for computer or router settings you can change that may help load the game.
