What type of plastic does your country recycles?

I came across this query since here in Chile we are only capable of recycling number 1 and 5 type of plastic. The rest of them just go to the garbage since we don’t have the equipment for recycling the other types without damaging even more the environment. In my case I’m just saving the other types of plastic for the day we are able to recycle them.

Very interesting topic.

I believe we can recycle every type of plastic in the USA. We probably can since the USA is one of the most industrious countries in the world. I think recyclables 1, 2, 5 and 6 are the most common personally. 1 includes water bottles. 2 includes trash bags. 5 includes drinking straws, and 6 includes egg cartons. Obviously, I'm not a recycling professional and some of what I said may not be entirely true but that how it appears to me :P.

That's fantastic news, Sintact!

In Australia, we've been able to recycle all types of plastics, except for 7 and EPS, for quite some time now.
