CCF~ Cheetah Conservation Fund

Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is a conservation is Southern Africa devoted to help save the graceful cheetah. CCF also has a rehab center, for sick or hurt cheetahs. They also care for the cats that can't be realeased back into the wild.
CCF has found out that cheetahs are mostly at risk from farmers, who shoot these beautiful cats because they kill livestock, mainly goats. CCF has started to breed a type of dog called the Anatolian Shepherd. These dogs are trained to bark when a preditory animal approches. Most farmers report that livestock killings have been redused majorly.
CCF was founded and is currently ran by Dr. Laurie Marker.

Cheetahs are truly beautiful and graceful animals, I enjoy watching them run and even rest on various nature shows, mostly Animal Planet.
I'm glad that this organization exists, it's good to see people helping the sicklings and help reduce killings.

I was glad too. I wrote an article on them in 5th grade.
Dr. marker is coming to my town, and my dad got me hooked up for an INTERVIEW. I'm a bit nervous, but I an soooo excited!!

I love cheetahs, they are truly beautiful animals. They run throughout the savanna and it is a wonderful thing to watch, if you've ever been to Africa, you would know what this feeling is like.

This sounds like a wonderful topic of conservation - preserving a species such as this is wonderful. Cheetahs are such graceful animals, and people need to recognize that they need our help as much as any creature that's poached/hunted.

CCF is great - I'd visit the website every now and then. I should probably start doing that - they always have a wealth of information it seems.

Whoa, that's awesome! Be sure to ask questions if you are able to, especially any you can think of about cheetah behaviors - it would be great to post those answers here. ^-^

Anyway, I haven't heard much of this place recently. Last I heard they had a fire, but that was almost a year or two years ago, even.
