-Merged several animal-help related topics. All topics that are about helping a specific animal or animals in general go here; if a topic is about a specific project or organization it will get its own topic.

I go out with dogs from the shelter since seven Years. I had several fav. dogs, some for five weeks, others for five years. It's amazing to see shelterdogs finding a new family. But it's also cheerless then old dogs which had lived their lives behind the cold fences of the shelter have to die there, too. Opa Angelo was one of them. He was a German shepherd and he had just three legs. Nobody would have him so he stood as a yard dog (not in a kennel but in the shelter yard with other pacific dogs) till his death.

That's kinda sad and I hate kill shelters. I support animal rights, some places give you a horse and paid you 500 dollars but the horse is wild though. BUt its a good idea though. I want my own shelter but the money and stuff. My and my friend help out some animals.

We have no kill shelters in Germany :D Maybe because we have no homeless dogs. The Police catch every dog which is alone on the street and bring it to the shelter. there they will stay till they find a new family (can took a few days or several years) The shelter I go out with dogs is one of the largest in my region. Sometimes they fly in the european south where lots of dogs have to suffer on the street and take them to germany. One time I think they fetched 80 dogs out of spain.

I've volunteered for a farm once.
And I saved a kitten from these litttle boys who were poking sticks and pointing and teasing the small creature.
It had a collar we took it to the shelter to see if it had a micro-chip and it did so we took it back to the owner ^^
I also saved a blue tongue lizard once, it was on the pedestrian crossing :? But i Don't remember how I saved it

Well I don't know very much about them. But I still love them very much  (i don't know why? Was it because of the first movie I ever watched? Spirit The Stallion of the Cimmaron)
lol I think thats why I have a love to horses though I've never owned one before.

Reducing your speed, keep your eyes open for anything to leap out at you.
I hate seeing dead cats on the road being run over and over.
Once I was walking my dog (Maya) on the road were all sqaushed birds, probably feel off trees and were killed on the road. It was a street corner, there were like seven on one road. :(
