What Themes Do You Like to Use When Naming Pups?

Post by SilkenGalaxy » Fri Dec 04, 2015 11:45 am

Not sure if any of these kinds of threads exist already, but if any do, feel free to lock mods!

So, do you like to use a theme when naming your pups (for example, types of fruit), or do you just come up with random names of the top of your head?

I would commonly just give them random names, although once I start playing 2.7, I will begin to use themes!

Well, as you mentioned in your post, I name them randomly in most cases, but I can choose a theme to help me find a suitable name for them (which is kind of rare).
I ran out of snarky remarks, unfortunately.

Yeah, I'll do that sometimes, just pick a theme to help out in naming them...

I know right?

At least, I believe I can somewhat remember using a theme as a basis once, oh wait, yes, I remember now, I was using all sorts of variations of the same name XD

I like to use all sorts of New Zealand bird names. Either that or I name them after wolf character or sub-species.

I've used a lot of herb and plant names for my pups - things like Elm, Burnet, Teasel, Laurel, Hazel, etc!

That's a pretty creative idea! Like I mentioned a few posts above, the one time I got creative and used a theme, my pups were all just named with variations of the same name.

I often use Welsh or Latin names, but often when I'm bored I will just type down the first name that comes to mind. xD

For me, it depends on the father/mother of the pups, which I play. There's these three wolves I prefer to play as, and I keep their name, their mate's name, and their pups' names in mind.
Otherwise, I just type in something randomly or something from another language, preferably Latin.

I generally like to use Native American or Japanese themed names, giving two pups a male name, and the other two, a female name.

It depends on what I named the parents, but sometimes it's just random.

I usually give them "natural" names (River, Pine, Maple, Hawk, etc) and/or name them after their color (Rusty, Sandy, etc).
