Names on WolfQuest.

Post by Aurora Alaska » Fri Oct 02, 2009 4:53 pm

This is a topic where you can discuss user names. What inspired you to have your username? What does it mean? What's cool about your username or another username? If you could change your username, what would you change it to? There's so much stuff you could ask.
You can also discuss all of your WolfQuest-given nicknames here!
The main thing for us to remember here is not to hurt anyone's feelings. That means no putting down a username or favoring just one username. You can agree that one is cool, just not the ultimate or anything, please try to keep away from words like that, you never know, it might offend somebody somehow.

Like me, I don't love my username all that much. I wish it had something to do with deer or something more unique, something about nature, anything. My name is so unoriginal I think, I just don't like how it has two parts. I still like it though, tons of people know me by it, and it is easy to make a nickname out of.
Some of my nicknames:
-Aurora A.
-A. Alaska
-Prizzly
-Roura
-Rora
-AA
-A.A.
-Bora
-Princess Aurora  Please do not call me this, xD.

I have some others, those are just some that I love and hate. I hope that there isn't already a topic like this, in which case I'm sorry. If not, enjoy this topic please!

Mine was originally SolitaryHowl2008 - but it got outdated so I asked Cana to change it to just SolitaryHowl.

The origin of my username? Well, I felt alone at the time...and I loved wolves howling...so there you have it. Not much thought put into it.

Some of my nicknames on here?

Larkpaw was originally a name I chose for myself because I liked Warriors and was new to the whole 'be on a forum' type thing. Therefore I lacked creative usernames, so I just went with a bird name that sounded fun and added the 'paw' after it. I wish I could change it to just 'Lark' now, but someone has already taken the name and I don't know if Cana would actually change my username to something different.

The only nickname I have really is 'Lark', and I'm occasionally called 'Lark-pants' by Songdog.

I dislike people spelling my name wrong or adding a y in anywhere; these are some common spellings I get-

Larkapaw
LarkPaw (It's one word. If I wanted the 'p' capitalized, I would have capitalized it in my username.)
larkpaw (I did capitalize the 'L', you know.)
Larky (DO NOT ADD THE Y)

I get pretty annoyed with that last one, so if I'm ever rude about it, I am sorry. I just strongly dislike it. =D

I figured that out when I first met you =D DO NOT call lark Larky. Not a good idea.

I have a lame username. I don't know how I came up with it. It's super horrible. I don't want to make a new one, though, with all the confusion. This is better then restarting.

Nicknames:

Swolf
Swolfo
Wolfo
Olfo
Swoofy
Swoof

I think I have more weird ones, mostly from Sintact XD

My former username on WQ was Shadowstar, and if I had to change my username again it would be back to Shadowstar.

I chose Shadowstar when I joined because I loved how the word shadow sounded, and I was(and still am) a Warriors freak, so I added star to the end of it. I didn't realize Shadowstar was the name of the first ShadowClan leader when I signed up, but that isn't what got me to change it. What got me to change it was I was getting a little tired of Shadowstar, and had already come up with Hidden Phoenix. My nicknames when I was Shadowstar were S.Star, Shadowy, Shadow, and probably some others that I've forgotton.

As I said earlier, I had thought of Hidden Phoenix before I changed my username, so I just PMed Michelle to have it changed to Hidden Phoenix. I hope the namechange never caused any confusion, and if it did I apologize. The name Hidden Phoenix started on a dog/wolf roleplaying site, and I kept that name for a while before changing it to something silly like Song of the Night. The name started when I was in a phoenix-obsessed phase, and as always was being the normal me, quiet and out of the way, so I chose Hidden for the first part. My nicknames for Hidden Phoenix are Hidden, Phoenix, and HP, but please don't call me HP..

Well my first characters name was Shadow so I guess shadowwolf was easy, but it was taken so I just put the first numbers that came to mind.

Does the name "Embry" need any explanation?

When I first joined WolfQuest and downloaded the game - and realised that I had to register at the forums - I wanted to come up with something original but familiar.
I'm a supporter of the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, and naturally, I was greatly drawn to the shapeshifting wolf characters, the Quileute tribe, that featured in the books - which is the reason I chose the name of one of the characters (Embry Call, a grey wolf with black spots on his back) as my username. Because Twilight has a huge fanbase, people instantly recognise my name and therefore they know where my name comes from - so I found a way to include one of my favorite book series into it and also a way to show creativity and recognition.

I'm mostly called Emb, Embs or Emb-emb here at WQ. I don't mind none of those nicknames, but I am bothered when total strangers call me "Emb-emb"; I prefer the people I know at least a little to call me that, I just find it somehow weird and uncomfortable when users who I have not even talked to say "Hey, great job, Emb-emb!"

I honestly don't know why I chose Dewfrost as my username, because I did the same on YouTube before I swapped accounts with the person who is now known as Dewfrost on there. I think I was just sitting outside watching some dew roll off a leaf in the garden, then went back the next day and it had frozen over. 'Suppose that and my username are linked to each other.
