Do genders really matter?
Re: Do genders really matter?
I actually Think Gender Does Matter A bit :/ I really Don't Want To Be RP With A Female When It Comes To Mates So Yes To Me Gender Matters On Certin circumstances.. But That's Just My Opinion.

This happens to me all the time. But it is alas and led, then they kick me out if I'm not the right gender...

When I join a server on wolf quest it sometimes gets really annoying when people ask you what your gender is and sometimes they kick you out if your not the gender they are looking for.

Technically having mates or engaging in RP's with that intention, to be 'mate' RP's, isn't allowed. :PRaiinn wrote:I actually Think Gender Does Matter A bit :/ I really Don't Want To Be RP With A Female When It Comes To Mates So Yes To Me Gender Matters On Certin circumstances.. I don't care anymore.. I used to a bit back when I was much younger(2010-ish) and did not know the rules, but that has long since passed. ^^
Re: Do genders really matter?
I don't mind gender usage, or playing with either gender. What I don't care for is when players are pushy about your gender or theirs, or become offended or angry if you A) Aren't their desired gender. Or B) Aren't interested in doing the "meat" thing with every random wolf that rolls through. Harassment isn't cool, people. Calm your puppies.

I think genders matter to a degree. I mean, pretty awkward if you accidentally call a she-wolf a he-wolf (not to mention it might offend some people), and genders are an important character trait. However, I do really get annoyed when people tell you to leave their game if you're not a certain gender. I also agree with Croix that it would be nice to be greeted with a 'hello' instead of, immediately after joining, 'led or alas?'

I don't think they matter at all. I don't have a habit of asking someone's gender because frankly I don't care. It's not even necessary for roleplay unless you're doing a "meat" chat.
Let me explain
This ugliness, this cruelty, this repulsiveness
It will all die out
And now, I cry for all that is beautiful

Re: Do genders really matter?
I'd once taken part in an RP that consisted of all male characters. It was one of the best RP's i'd participated in, through all my experiences on Wolfquest. All female characters are fun to RP with too. I believe it has more to do with the characters, and less to do with genders. What seems to be appealing to most is gender pairing--having a male and female come together. If not as a mate, then as a companion. I personally don't care.

Re: Do genders really matter?
I've never really thought about it, but no, genders don't matter much to me. The only reason I might want to know is in a rp so I could use pronouns(him, her, he), but I suppose I could just use they/them if they wanted.

I don't think genders matter, but it is just a little snippet of info that people can use. Like people used to ask me lad or lass, and I would say either one for the fun of it, but it wouldn't effect gameplay.wolfluver86 wrote:^ This, I agree with Atropine right here.Atropine wrote:I don't think gender matters at all, unless you are participating in mate-related behaviour, which isn't allowed. I too have come across people who seem to be obsessed with finding out peoples' gender - it really shouldn't affect the way you roleplay or play multiplayer.

Re: Do genders really matter?
- Genders have never really mattered to me to be honest. Sometimes I ask if I really know the person and have spent a lot of time with them, it's nice to get to know them. Never been involved in mate-related roleplay and if people ask my gender, I usually give them the "attack helicopter" thing, because it's simply none of their business. cx

Re: Do genders really matter?
I could care less about genders. Wolves don't really have gender roles in real life. They do them; they survive. They don't care until its breeding season which shouldn't be apart of multiplayer Wolfquest and something I wish people would stay away from. This is a Wolf Ecology game not Tinder for Tots.

Re: Do genders really matter?
The only reason why I care about gender is so I can easily visualize their voice. Other then that, since it’s a wolf RP and it’s not like there’s even much sexual dimorphism it doesn’t really matter to me.
