I find that genders don't really matter all that much. To me it's only important in Single Player, when it determines the game play of it.
Although gender in Multiplayer is rather unnecessary, it IS nice to know whether someone is a boy or girl, just in case you might offend them some how later. Overall I think genders should only truly matter in single player.

I don't think it should matter on the forums nor in-game. Gender does not matter to me, at least. Several users have mistaken me for the wrong gender in the past for obvious profile reasons. I personally find it amusing.

I find it easier to roleplay when I know what gender other players' wolves are, but I don't care about the whole mate thing.

I only like asking for genders, in-case I call a lady a gentleman. Pretty simple to understand.
But no, I don't think it is that important.
Eeeeyup. I'm Magpie, but I like to be called Feather. I just got my lazy rump back on here,

Well, I believe that should be obvious, for one, the simple fact of the RP, I find it impossible to properly rp when all I can say is "it", last I checked, you don't go around calling everything an "it", it's just... weird, and two, this is a realistic game, completely removing gender's in this would kill the realism, sure there's the basic hunting and stuff... but genders are overall just... needed. Though still... I see no real difference in detail between the male and female wolf models, at least in my opinion you should at least add something so there some kind of difference, otherwise... well it freaks me out my male wolf looks like a ken doll, that's all, just my opinion at least.
XD Ken doll...

Yeah, I agree. Using 'it' and ' the other wolf' gets old fast and it is rather strange.
(Wow... I don't get one nearly enough... meh, whatever...)

yah... I know for a fact in the rp's i do, generally forum rp's, when i get into the long, detailed, 3 paragraph posts.. using "it" would make it very difficult.. it's just.... not so very descriptive at all... sorta kills it having to hear it over and over and over and over... you get the point lol

(neglects the shift key cuz I'm lazy and it's late at night >.>)
Why?

I disagree with that. Of course you can talk to guys about shopping and clothes, and talk about baseball and football with girls. It's probably true that most guys are more interested in baseball and football rather than shopping and clothes, but exceptions occurs and should not be sidelined or forgotten. Otherwise we're just encouraging stereotypes.
I'm a girl and I don't like to talk about shopping or clothes (not baseball or football either for that matter). (:

On WolfQuest Im gender neutral. To me, it doesnt matter that much. Maybe to other people it does, like they feel the urge to scream out: 'Im a girl!' or 'Im a boy!'
everything out of the ordinary is considered weird, i try to stay clear of the eathlings and their fears

I don't think genders matter much. Sometimes I might want to know what gender a person is to avoid calling a male she or female a he. Otherwise I don't think it is that important.

Genders are useful for me, or else I often end up calling females males (I've never done the vice versa of that). However, I don't see why some mp games revolve around genders, or why genders are so important that people have to break the filters over it.

I usually end up calling the gender, the opposite, by mistake. But if you think about it, someone may play as a male in one game and you go to another chat, finding that same user, but as a different gender. So basically having genders doesn't honestly matter, I mean...the only time I see that genders 'really' matter, are when someone wants a mate, or pups.
Otherwise, I'm fine.

In my opinion, genders have corrupted the WQ game. It has lead to unwanted behavior in the game. But I have a different opinion for the forums.

I don't think genders matter in the slightest. They don't (and probably shouldn't) change what people think of you, and they only create slight changes in role-play and appearance. They essentially don't change anything at all, and besides, the weird labels people have to use are kinda weird, like hem and she. For me, they only cause problems in multiplayer, and I don't really care in single player.

No, genders don't matter at all. I don't see why anyone should even have to ask if they're male or female because it makes me wonder if they intend on treating you differently based on your gender.
