I used to all for the strong wolves with an acceptable running speed, but now I'm just way too impatient to wait for them to get their fuzzy buttocks from one end of the map to the other. xD

So now I tend to go for -0.5 Strength, +0.2 Stamina, and +0.3 Speed so that I have blazing speed with enough stamina to maintain it's maximum for at least 10 seconds and to run for around a minute without having to stop to catch my breath. I also find it hilarious when I join a RP game and everyone's trying to catch me and "kill me" and write "tackles no dodge no nothing" when I'm on the other side of the map already or they claim that they're lightning fast and can't even keep up with me for two seconds. xD

I tend to rally a fair bit in multiplayer, and I usually hunt with at least one or two others. I'm normally the one that first bites the elk to slow it down enough for the heavyweights or herds it towards them, although it gets boring when hunting is so easy so sometimes I lower my speed so there's a bit more of a chase instead of insta-kill. cx

I occasionally go for more balanced stats, such as -0.1 Strength, -0.1 Stamina, and +0.2 Speed for single player games so I can hunt elk by myself and kill coyotes easier, although having a lot of speed/stamina makes bears easier to deal with and when also fighting other wolves and killing Druids. I usually go for speed and strength. Makes it easy to catch elk. Bad stamina though.

I usually aim for speed and stamina. Strength isn't too big a deal for me. It usually works when hunting, but as far as wolf encounters go, I have no choice but to be submissive.

I try to go with around equal, favoring stamina and strength but not by too much - if I'm too imbalanced I might not make a good hunter O:

I tend to keep my Speed and Strength equalish. Speed tends to have a lot more.

Elk run too fast for an all stamina wolf. When I tried with a high stamina wolf, I chased it all over the map, and I never was able to bite it more than once.

Same thing happened with an all out strength wolf. Couldn't catch the elk.

I keep speed higher, so I can catch the elk, but have quite a bit of strength to do damage. My stamina is sorely lacking though.

I'm currently mixing and matching with the new version to see which combination works best for me.

My wolf is rather fast, but with enough strength to take down elk after ~10 minutes of chasing, and just enough stamina to go from one side of the map to the other. I don't remember the exact stats, but I pull up the speed bar while the the strength and stamina hover around zero, the strength slightly higher than the strength (actually it really doesn't matter which is higher). This makes for a rather small wolf.

The version I have played from the start is 2.5. I have yet to try the new demo.

Hunting in 2.7 has gotten harder, so my preference has changed a bit. I still prefer speed over brute strength, however. I like more of a speed and distance wolf so i can keep going for longer, but that greatly hurts my bite ability, so what I've done is stick to small game without the help of a mate or a multiplayer pack member.

For some reason a fast wolf works better on my laptop. I like using a fast one when I'm on multiplayer so I can have better control on my horrid laptop.

What stat do you guys think works best for carrying pups in 2.7? I can't carry very far and the little buggers seem to wander a bit while stamina is recovering so it is hard work making any progress lol.
My initial stats were str 19, stam 71, spd 60. But I keep playing with them. :D
I like spd and stamina for hunting elk but it is frustrating not being able to carry pups very far.

Y'know, since 2.7 came out, my opinion's changed a bit when it comes to a stat spread - I favor faster builds with a little less stamina and somewhat hindered strength. They're pretty efficient for a lot of things, and you can keep up with the rest of the pack on hunts in multi. (Strong wolves with low speed can be useful at the very end, though.)

The best I can think of would be something with high stamina - correct me if I'm wrong (as I probably am, haha), but I think having a higher stamina allows you to carry pups for longer periods of time without dropping them. I'd have to test this with a wolf with low stamina to be sure, though.

I prefer a wolf with good stamina and decent speed, with strength not bothering me all that much. It was can awfully frustrating waiting for your wolf's stamnia to replenish, so good stamina at least allows me to travel/hunt/etc. for longer without having to stop to rest as much in comparison to other builds (e.g. high strength with low stamina and speed).

I usually have a strong wolf, with stamina close behind, and speed last.

It seems like stamina is the way to go in 2.7. I've been sticking to roughly around 40% Strength, 80% Stamina, and 40% Speed, although I like to experiment a bit and shake it up and do the complete opposite too. xD

I think I'll bump up the Strength to around 55% next time in hopes that that one Druid doesn't kick my butt again.

For me it actually depends on what I want my wolf to have during that specific playthrough.
I sometimes like to add backstories or personalities to my wolf so depending on what I want for a specific playthrough, I'll adjust accordingly.
Recently though, I've taken a liking to having a strong wolf; however, I have noticed that it is harder to catch your breath after chasing down elk.
