Can't Login to Account

Ok, so for weeks now I have been unable to login to my WolfQuest account. I have an account from WolfQuest 2.7 that used to work to login to the game. Now, every time I try, I get a message saying that I already have an account and I need to login using that account. But the account I am trying to log into is the only account I have. I have tried to reset the password, which works, but I still can't login.
Some other info that may be helpful:
I originally downloaded the game from itch.io upon its launch. I have since downloaded the steam version as I could not find a way to add DLC to that version of the game. Yes, I did delete the itch.io version from my computer. This bug only started happening after the update where achievements were added, which coincidentally is why I really want to be able to log in.

Any help that can be offered would be appreciated.
