Can't connect to multiplayer

Hello!
I've had this issue for over 2 days now, ever since I bought the game (Anniversary), I can't connect to multiplayer lobbies and I keep getting the error "Failed to connect to multiplayer service. It may be offline. Please try again later."
I've tried everything I can think of; firewall, turning computer off and on, reinstalling, but nothing seems to do the trick. It's only with this game, as I am able to join other online games without any issues.
Is there a trick to solve this, or do I have to simply wait? I bought the game via steam.
