Unable to login after password reset (CLIENT)

As evident, I am able to access my account on the WQ forum. However, I cannot use the account in-game (Anniversary Edition). I've gone through the motions of resetting my password to be sure I had my information correct both in-game as well as resetting it a second time through this website. Yet in-game it gives me the following statement when I attempt to log in:

"You've already created an account for WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition! Please log into that account. If you've forgotten the username or password, click Forgot Password."

I've attempted to login with several other passwords I've used (to include the password reset temporary login one I received via email from "admin@wolfquest.org") and this is the only one that gives me this message and doesn't say that the credentials are invalid. The one I've used that gives me the message above is also the one that I reset my password to for the last time, which is my current password I use to log into this forum. I really want to check out the multiplayer functions and I'd greatly appreciate any help you can send my way.

So after reading another post about this issue, I found the reply by Naemara which follows:

"Forum accounts run on a separate user database which used to be connected to 2.5 and older versions; they have always been incompatible with 2.7 and Anniversary Edition. This is mentioned in the support database articles-

The WolfQuest Team opted to start with a clean slate -- the forum's user database has accumulated over 850,000 accounts, with the majority of those accounts being inactive or abandoned.
To play multiplayer or use account features in the premium versions, you will need to create a new account within the game itself. If you already have a 2.7 account, you can import it over to AE via the in-game instructions on the account interface."

I've already attempted to create a new account with a similar spare email to my main accounts email, however it's been almost an hour and nothing has popped up in spam or my main inbox.
