My mate keeps running away?

During and after the "Find A Mate" challenge, my chosen mate keeps running away. I'll do a play bow and he'll sprint away and return the play bow like 20 yards away. I have to constantly turn around to see where he is and run after him to do any kind of close interaction. We hunt alright together, though. How can this bug be fixed?

Your chosen mate seems to be a bit more on the loner side. I personally have had this happen to me, and while it may be frustrating if you’re trying to interact with your mate, it’s nothing to really worry about.
